To be fair, with Lang, Tapuai, Lasike and Cheeseman filling in
there, I'm not too worried. Saili, when fit, just offers
something that those guys don't have - we've seen glimpses of it
during the 5 games he has played for us. Would just be nice if
it was available to use throughout the season...

I think Sialli has the potential to be one of our best ever
centres, but I am starting to think we just need to release him
fro the contract and get someone else in.

If by "release from contract" you mean "pay the rest of his
contract", then that money comes out the salary cap. That may
not give us the cash we need to attract the player we'd like.

Yeah, as he's contracted and budgeted for, why not keep him and
hope to hell he gets himself fit and then bring in short term
       cover as and when required?

Unless Saili suddenly starts every game and plays well you do
begin to wonder about his track record with Munster and since he
       has been here....

Think some on here are giving Saili a hard time. Sometimes
players just go through a rough point with injury’s. Whether you
look after yourself or not, an injury is an injury. If, and if
he can recover well and continue somewhat injury free, I can see
him becoming worth every penny and then some for us.

I talked to James Chisholm on the tour and asked him about when
he would be playing and see said he was available for this
       Saturday!
Talked to Buchanan his was less encouraging he said his injury
was nearly career ending and was looking to be back by
       Christmas.

. I know I had it explained with the hole JK thing but I really
do not get how sports contracts are dealt with. Why would we
need to pay him to end of contract? So far we have not seen 80
minutes of rugby in a season. I know its harsh and I really
think injury free he’d be a regular starter but there is a point
where you need to see bang for your buck.

We agreed to employ him for 2 years (or whatever the figure is)
at a given rate of pay. There isn't the idea of "one month's
notice" in that, it's a fixed length. I guess maybe in
exceptional circumstances (like getting sent to prison) the
contract is broken, but illness or no longer wanting the player
       is not a reason.
Think of the Geo Cronje situation. He came over here with a
contract signed, all the doctors (on both sides) thought he had
a minor injury. Turned out to be a play stopping injury, but
Harlequins were obliged to continue paying him for the contract
period. In the end Geo Cronje was too much of a gentleman to
take the money for nothing and so the contract was dissolved by
mutual agreement, but he could have insisted and Harlequins
would have had to pay him out to get him off the books.
