Gustard può essere un problema visto l'inesperienza di head
coach, ma il vero problema sono alcuni giocatori.
Earle in difesa è assente, Dombrandt dopo la pausa non sembra
più quello di prima, Care non si capisce bene quello che vuole
fare quando ha la palla, solo per fare degli esempi.
NEV credo si concetri troppo su Smith,e il gioco in attacco è
sempre troppo prevedibile, ci si affida al sigolo giocatore che
faccia una giocata straordinaria.
Troppe volte il sostegno arriva tardi e la mischia se inizia
bene, dopo un pò si distrugge da sola.
Le statistiche dicono tanto: giocato 17 partite vinte 7
pareggiate 1 e perse 10 , come punti subiti solo Worcester e
Londra Inglese peggio di noi.
Lasciando stare che i saracens non contano nulla, saremmo al 9
posto.
Possiamo anche arrivarci in europa se entriamo nelle prime 8, ma
con giocatori come Botta Baldwin Landajo Herron Lawday Yong e
ultimamente anche Collier, se ci troviamo con squadre come
Tolone Tolosa Munster o Leicester, cosa speriamo di vincere?
Il linguaggio del corpo dice tanto e non bene per noi, ad un
certo punto Dombrandt camminava come se fosse al parco.
Vedo tutti i video durante la settimana: lavoriamo bene, siamo
orgogliosi è un bel gruppo, poi vedi la partita e sembra che sia
siano incontrati per la prima volta 10 minuti prima negli
spogliatoi.
Senza contare che se Marler Smith Dombrandt e Marchandt fanno il
prossimo 6 nazioni e con Robshaw che non ci sarà più,sono
curisoso di vedere con chi li sostuiteremo.
Ho idea che si devono comprare almeno 6/7 giocatori di ottimo
livello, e soprattutto non prendendoli dopo averli visti in un
video.
In circolazione ce ne sono, bisogna solo andare a prenderli.
L'ultima immagine di Gustard che guarda per 10 secondi verso il
vuoto, dice molto più delle parole.
Anche se comunque un altro anno lo vorrei tenere.

I’d be inclined to give him next season with the remaining new
players set to join as I don’t see much benefit in changing yet.
And causing more upheaval with no real pre season ahead. Can’t
say I’m not very worried though.
That said, regardless of whoever the coaches are, our basics
have been poor since about 2013. Way too many basic errors in
all facets of the game. Some of yesterday’s would have had a
kids team feeling embarrassed. It just feels like there’s a
serious attitude problem somewhere in the squad. The leadership
is also seriously lacking and I do t expect that to get any
better with Robbo leaving.
Also, I’m not sure where the top class replacement is going to
come from. Our last 2 appointments have been JK who came from
within but I don’t think particularly excited anyone and PG who
has potential but unproven as a DOR. We just don’t seem to make
the large appointments as a club.

Yesterday’s loss was not down to Herron in anyway. They absorbed
20 mins of our gameplay then the simple fact is their forwards
dominated the next 60 allowing them to play. If their is any
blame it has to be our lack of power up front.
I was impressed with Young I thought he did really well in the
lineout.

David Flatman said before kick off, that Quins will want a
quick, "tempo" game, as he called it, while Bath would want a
slower paced game to let their pack dominate.
Sounds as though he may have got it somewhere near right.

Is there just a lack of big horrible people in the pack? A name
rarely mentioned is Horwill, he gave so much more grunt. Plus
Kyle obvs. And so there are now suggestions we stick our
talismanic running number 8 into the second row! I thought Will
Evans’ comments on the vid about why Marcus was in the scrum
were telling- he admitted to being nervous about tackling
Naiyaravoro- I like Evans but if you’re Bath it’s not exactly
going to intimidate you, is it?!
Hopefully the arrival of the saffers will change things...

We've been missing a big nasty player in the pack for a while.
I'm ignoring front row players when saying this as the type we
have missed has been second row or back row.
Something to explore aggressively with the departure of robshaw?

I’m less worried about ‘nasty’. I simply want players who can
consistently perform their role well.
Exeter have some big players and are aggressive, but I wouldn’t
say they’re nasty. They just carry hard, tackle hard and play
for each other. Even when they play their reserves, their
systems and structure is so well established that they play in a
similar way regardless of who is picked.
I think we’re on the way to developing some good ‘units’. A pack
of Marler, Baldwin, Kerrod/Louw, Lewies, Symons, Chisholm, Evans
and Dombrandt has the potential to be a good pack. I’d be
tempted to give Flannery an expanded remit and get him really
focus on bringing the forwards up to standard. I don’t think
ability is the issue - it’s more attitude, application and
consistent delivery IMO.
The backs is a bit tougher. We have lots of talent, but right
now the mix is wrong. I’m hoping Esterhuizen and Green bring a
bit more grit.

We have a head of rugby, ( Gustard) A general manager ( Maynard)
Nev attack & backs coach
Sean Long Making the switch to Union, Long has been brought in
by Head of Rugby Paul Gustard to focus on the squad's attack,
specialising in the finer details of running lines and the
creation of numerical advantages.
Flannels Lineout coach
Jones forwards and premiership shield
We don’t appear to have many more than others, and lineout has
improved, but have to say I don’t see the impact that Long has
made out of all of them
Is Gustard really the problem?
Maybe we have to make do with what we have as don’t have the
money to bring in established coaches, looking at how it’s
planned out since JK left I’d have happily taken Mallinder or
Cockers, but hindsight’s a wonderful thing
