He had an excellent game. I fear you've glossed over his
performances of the past few seasons and have forgotten just how
good he was before then, though.

I agree he was phenomenal for the past few seasons. However,
what I can see he is still breaking tackles, making many meters,
super secure under the high ball and in defence.
He is not giving up on a England squad place, Jones loves a
fighter and let's say he he is not going to be picking Furbank
and time soon. His form has nose doved since he was capped in
Paris.

McConnochie's form means he must start for England. I'd expect a
starting back three of McConnochie, May and Watson with the
latter at FB.
Brown is certainly in with a shout of a squad place. It's just
whether EJ is thinking about his age and building for the next
world cup cycle, or for the here and now.

I love Brown up their with my favourite players of all time but
you cannot select him in England squads moving forward at 35 he
could come into as an advisory role but not as a player. England
need to solidify the next fullback and as much as I think Brown
is up there with the best they need to look to the future.
Plus I cannot see Eddie picking him. Agree McConnochie's form is
ridiculous at the moment and he just glides past people. He runs
great lines and has good strength and speed.
I just wish Mike Haley was still around as I thought he could of
done a job for England. Watson looks like the only real
selection at FB, Furbank from what I can see offers very little.

Yeah Furbank was, in hindsight, capped far too early.
Brown does break some tackles and still has a role to play, and
is still good under the high ball, but he isn't the same player
who was world class. Last night he missed 3 tackles, for
example, and made one break (no defenders beaten). It's not
intended as a criticism of his performance, but The Real Mike
Brown used to give us 70m+, 5+ defenders beaten, a few offloads,
and some awesome tackles on a regular basis. Along with the try
scoring...
He's not international level any more and that's fine because
he's 35 years old and time waits for no man.
Luke James would be my shout ahead of Furbank at this stage, big
fan of his work.

I agree but I don't think form has much to do with it as far as
Eddie is concerned.

No, but I expect more pride in the shirt and for the fans.
I expect very little from the current structure at Quins.
