individual performances I have seen on a rugby pitch - and the
tries he created for England against the Barbarians, one of them
from an awful pass he picked up at ankle height.

He was immense in that U20 team, came up against Ardie Savea and
totally outplayed him. I think that he was best at 8, his
explosivness and power would have been great.
Good luck to him and lets hope it opens up some free cash for
Gustard and co to sing a half decent replacement.

Gutted for him, I thought he was on the mend 😟
Hopefully the club support him in the transition to another
       career.
All the best to the fella, a great Quin.

Absolutely gutted for the lad, could have been one of the all
times great Quins players and potentially even England. He was
so unfortunate with injuries so the announcement doesn’t come as
       a surprise.
My mind does jump to think that we must now have some serious
wage space with robbo and now Clifford going, unless it’s
already been taken into account, for the 2020/21 season.
Hopefully we haven’t and have some money still spare as we
suddenly seem quite under stocked and missing top end talent in
       the positions

Hugely dissapointing. Both for Jack himself, Quins & England.
One of the best young players we have ever had. I do wonder
though, if his true position was ever sorted? For me he could
have been the Australian type 7 that England could never find,
but was 8 too tough for a guy not of Giant proportions? Thanks
Jack & best of luck going forward.

Yes, absolutely gutted to hear this. Have been hoping all week
that the rumours were false. I guess he could transition to
referee or management or coaching if he wants to stay in touch
with rugby. Whatever he does, I wish him all the best.

So Sad hearing this today. Great player who never really got to
show us what he could have done. Hope what ever he decides to do
       it is a success.

Very sad for him a great guy and huge potential both as player
and future Club Captain. A great loss to the Game and I wish
him all the best for the future.

This has put a bit of a downer on my week - and unsurprisingly
I'm not the only one gutted. A back row of 6 Chisholm / 7
Clifford / 8 Dombrandt was the one I was looking forward to
seeing come together - and I, too, had him down as future
       captain. Really sad times.
I do expect to see a big name signing in the back row now ahead
       of next season.
