Lovely evening rugby restart.
Tuned in and didn’t even notice the fake crowd sound.
I think that says it all!

I thought it was fine. Didn't bother me at all. Think it
would've been more odd with nothing at all and the commentators
apologising for players swearing every 30 secs.

Generally it worked well & the sound engineers are definitely
trying to make the sound match the action, which is quite a
skill. As someone who's tangentially associated to the job (I
work for one of the biggest names in broadcast, live, and studio
sound equipment & desks) I'd be interested to see how they've
set that up!
One thing I did notice during the Exeter game was that the
stadium PA was still being used, announcing player substitutions
etc, as well as playing the "sting" for the Tomahawk Chop chant.
That raised a couple of questions in my mind:
i) Who were they playing the PA for?
ii) Given they've dropped the mascot already, why are Exeter
continuing to push the Tomahawk Chop?

I thought ours was pretty rubbish and not based on our home
crowd. Since when have we blown horns/whistles. As the weekend
went on it got better. Home crowd songs were used I did not hear
any of ours.

Maybe BT should use the soundtrack from a football match from a
few years ago to generate a better atmosphere. We could have old
favourites like "You're going to get your flipping heads kicked
in" and "the referee's a banker" (or something like that).
That would provide a talking point!

I would like to have songs that actually get the crowd to really
join in such as Hi Ho Silver Lining and Sweet Caroline etc.
(when there are crowds).
Probably not "Corporate" enough though.

It work really well, I think it was Clifford who scored and they
played 'Country Roads'. The crowd really joined in, have not
heard anything like it since.
