Positive discrimination? Yeah, that is a terrible idea.
The pschological tests which show unconscious bias towards one's
own race are not indicators of racism, they simply show that
everybody has an unconscious bias towards their own race. It's
innate. to say that they reveal a level of racism is to
misunderstand the word and the test.

Does he disagree? I said the reason there isn't a campaign is
because there ISN'T a fan problem. Where in the article does he
say there's a fan problem?

Now there I agree, but again it seems obvious to me that is why
there is no campaign in rugby. The disparity in rugby is the
same as in pretty much every walk of life, whereas the campaign
in football is due to horrific racism directed towards players
earning a living on the pitch.

Racism in rugby is certainly less overt than it is in soccer,
but that doesn't mean it's not there. Even if racism in rugby
doesn't rise above the background level in the UK, neither is
acceptable and we should be doing what we can to combat it.
For those of us who are lucky enough not to be exposed to racism
(and other discrimination) in everyday life, a good first step
is to listen to and take seriously the voices of those who are -
like Ugo - and not underplay or dismiss what they are saying.

I was just thinking exactly this, poorfour. As a guy who's
enjoyed white privilege his entire life, how I can tell Ugo or
any black person that there isn't racism in the UK. Or even that
it's not that bad?

I agree but then again not being rugby professionals doesn't
stop us from telling Gustard how to do his job does it?
(Excuse the light-hearted comment but I was just trying to get
the discussion back to rugby!)

Did anyone just see Ugo's story on his experience of racism.
F*****G H*LL!!!!!! So disgusting for him to experince that. No
one should. For him to be targeted in that way is beyond words
