That explains why we seemed to have a lot of hookers. Two
unfortunate retirements for Two excellent players for us.

Really sad for him. Particularly as it was a hamstring injury
suffered when he probably should have been replaced. To work his
way back from a neck injury to then have to retire due to a
hamstring injury is really cruel.
I know it was a big gamble when we signed him as he had a bad
track record injury wise. When he was fit he was probably our
best hooker, along with Elia. They offered different things, but
he was certainly our best lineout option.
Gutted for him but wish him all the best in the future.

Yep. A meaningless LV Cup we’d already lost IIRC.
This is a bit of a shocker. I was braced for him leaving but I
didn’t expect it to be a retirement.

off the bone and has been left with severe nerve damage

I got it wrong ... Heineken Cup. Still should have been replaced
well before he got injured - I’m pretty sure it was his comeback
game.
