I think that's usually when Marcus is playing though.

Back row looks like the area that needs some recruitment,
especially if Bothma is off. There is no doubting the quality
that we have there, but we look light on numbers, especially
given Clifford's injury record and the potential for Dombrant to
get an England call-up this season.

Gustard said on the Green signing quotes, that he is looking
forward to me muscles Dino Lamb to step up this season. He is a
second row, but can also play backrow, throw in the other you
youngsters and we have a decent back row. Agree however that we
need to replace Robshaw....tough act to follow.

Considering som e of the players we have been linked with, I
would b e very surprised if we did not sign a BR

Indeed. We were strongly linked with du Toit and Wiese which
would suggest we’re looking at another 6. TBH with Robshaw,
Kunatani and probably Bothma leaving, I’d argue we might need a
couple of back row reinforcements.

probably want a contrast in styles if you can get it.

Big Chis and Green can both cover there in a pinch. It would
make sense to have an older mentor type if it weren’t the case
that NEv is only a couple of years retired and we are unlikely
to find a better mentor for our flyhalves than him.

Im not saying he is a fully fledged FH, but Tapuai has played a
bit there in his career also

Based on nothing other than the dark inner working of my mind, I
think we will announce/try to sign the following before the
season starts
LH (Els from Ealing)
TH (Trenier from Ealing)
LK/BR - someone capable of playing both
BR
SH - a bit of a project. Either a youngster or Hastings from RL,
to convert.
it is possible we may add another LH and/or TH, but that depends
on the future of Head and Sassone. More out than in, but an
empahsis on quality rather than quantity

I’d be very happy with that.
Els and Trenier would be useful additions to round out our prop
stocks. We’d effectively have good first, second and third
choices in each berth.
An additional lock/back row and back row are needed and I’d like
at least one of them to be a serious challenger for the starting
shirt.
If we do go for an additional scrum half, I’m happy for us to
take a bit of punt on Hastings or a development project given we
have Care, Landajo and Saunders.

If Hastings came and it worked it would be seen as an act of
genius, he is excellent play maker at league. I wonder if Shane
Long is have away in this possible signing
