I occasionally go to update the page and am pleased to see it's
already done. I couldn't remember who was doing it. So thanks

Surely James Lang is our 2nd choice 10 as well as being a
utility back. Herron is our 3rd choice 10 in my view.

I think Herron looked a decent player last season. cant remember
the game when he was left out for Smith after playing the
previous week. Thought it was quite harsh

When was the last time Lang played though?

Not for ages. At least three months.

Taps has another year on contract. Based on PG’s announcements
of Green and Semi leaving - think it is far to say Goneva and
Bothma are off.

I still dream of us signing Frans Steyn :)

fly half to fill in the gaps in his absence and close out games
when things need tightening up. (If only we had a experienced ex

Re 1), I thought Tex showed up well so far. He's got a bot of
beast about him to go with the Fijian hands.

Herron plays with a similar style to Smith, whereas Lang is a
very different type of 10. As a coach, when everyone is fit you
probably want a contrast in styles if you can get it.
I would be surprised if we sign another fly half given that Big
Chis and Green can both cover there in a pinch. It would make
sense to have an older mentor type if it weren’t the case that
NEv is only a couple of years retired and we are unlikely to
find a better mentor for our flyhalves than him.

:( I missed the key word/number in that sentence ...
I meant to write “when was the last time Lang played 10 though”.
PG’s definitely preferred to play him as a centre.
