To be capped by the Springboks, on the wing, he must have been a
good player. Quite why we saw that, it's impossible to tell.
Maybe there were underlying issues, maybe he never settled,
maybe it just didn't click for him. As stated above, three
matches isn't much to base an opinion on, although he didn't
shine in those appearances. I was surprised that he didn't use
his physical presence more, but now he's going I agree that he
won't be missed. Seemed like a good signing, but it didn't work
out.

His reputation in South Africa is that of a consistent player
rather than a stand out player. pity his consistency at quins
was that of being consistently bad
He only has one cap for the springboks. A pointless match
against wales in USA while the REAL springbok team stayed behind
to prepare for their match against England a couple of days
later. Wales and the Boks both played a second string team.

There were rumours of him carrying knocks and injuries which
disrupted him training - and that i think even in the game he
did play for us he never looked fully fit.
Rugby is all about chances and 'right time, right place' moments
- There are many players that never quite make it at one club,
then bloom at another and then there are super star players who
move and never re-capture that form.
Rugby is such a team sport - and it can be hard to get on the
same wavelength - i do think that is why our success a few years
a ago was built around a group that had played together through
the academy -

I completely forgot about him. Can’t remember much form him
either. No loss. Ashton and Earle are great first choices, and
we have Gabs and Murley pushing them. Should save some money
with Ismael and Goneva

Which would still put him in the top half dozen wingers in SA.
That's not a bad standard in any tier one nation.
