At the risk of appearing stupid, our 2 season tickets are paid
by monthly direct debit. I'd assumed that they wouldn't start
debiting for the 20/21 season as the 19/20 hasn't been
completed, but having checked my bank statement this month, they
appear to have taken the slightly increased monthly debit for
next season in April. Whilst I want to continue to support the
Club and didn't want to contribute to the increased financial
pressure they're under by cancelling my renewal debits, have
others done so ?

Hi Quinky, I agree the club is in a difficult financial
position. However that applies across the board and will have a
material effect upon membership renewals. People on furlough,
contractors with no income and those being made redundant will
all look to their more immediate priorities.
At the moment the club has no product to sell. They are asking
everyone to shell out money for something that might not begin
until January 2021 (if todays DT is to be believed). That makes
the Jun 9th membership deadline totally arbitrary and without
reason.
My understanding of your membership organisation is that the
board have sat down and conducted a review. The review has
concluded that events have prevented a resumption of normal
business and a contingency plan has been formulated. That is a
thoroughly logical approach delivering a timely adjustment. The
membership will appreciate what has been done. Quins now need
to do the same - conduct a review and let the members know what
is happening.
I acknowledge the club may be waiting for a clearer picture to
emerge. Its a reasonable assumption, but still an assumption.
Some hard news out of the club would be very helpful.

I would appreciate a little more communication from the club
I pay for mine and my 2 sons memberships, I have gone from
worrying about the rest of this season to now thinking what
about next season. I pay by DD and have already started paying
for 20/21 membership, if that is a 'normal' season it will be a
miracle......
I am completely sympathetic to the difficult financial position
of rugby as a whole and obviously Quins in particular, I don't
have the same relationship with them as say Tesco etc, I am
prepared to go above and beyond to ensure I am still watching
them in 10 years time. What I cannot do is hand over £1000 plus
without any knowledge of contingencies and this is currently
what it feels to me is the case............other clubs Sale,
Liverpool FC have put on hold next season sales

It’s a bit like people asking the Government for an exit plan
Don’t think anyone knows, what’s going to happen
There’s talk of behind closed doors game, also clubs going off
to form another league, premiership football have their meeting
on Friday about what’s next
France have called off all sport until Sept, Germany where
talking about mid May for football to start, but now fear of a
second spike
Let’s be honest until there is a vaccine ( poss sept) if you
played professional rugby would you want to be in a contact
sport ?

I’ve had season tickets since 1995 and attended games off and
on from 1980, right now I’d like to renew our tickets but £2200
is simply too much to commit when it is unknown what’s going
to happen next week (except for expecting an extension to lock
down....) let alone what the future of mass sports spectating is
going to look like over the coming months.
IMHO until a proven vaccine is readily available, and the
majority of the population have had it, i doubt any sain person
would be happy to congregate in large numbers just to watch a
rugby game no matter what social distancing measures are in
place.
The club need to be realistic, treat their fans with a modicum
of respect and accept that this seasons a right off from a
spectators point of view and explain what’s going to happen with
the £s they need to refund and the plans moving forward such as
extending the renewal date for this year and what would happen
if there is no fans permitted until 2021......

I suspect they can't refund and monies. They are probably having
severe cash flow issues. Staving off bankruptcy is probably the
main focus. I really can't see many clubs surviving.
Clubs such as Richmond who don't have player contacts or a
ground are probably the only clubs who are not extremely nervous
right now

Frankly it's all up in the air.
Maybe we won't get a refund for this year (even if you want it),
it seems unlikely that we'll see an end to this season and if we
do it will be on TV, we may not even see the 20/21 season start
on schedule, TV rights seem up for grabs with reduced revenues.
As several have said, all of this is going to have a huge impact
on all clubs.
I'm not a long term ST holder, but having grown up a stones
throw away from the Stoop, I want to see the club continue and
thrive. However I cannot bring myself to renew until we have a
clearer indication of what the future holds. If that means my ST
lapses then so be it but I see no point in throwing good money
after bad in the current climate.
If push comes to shove I'll spend my Saturdays watching my local
club play.

member benefits are just unusable. (Ironically, some members are
now seeing further benefits and are taking greater use of them).
As a board, we've taken the decision to defer membership
renewals from Jan 1st to April 1st, effectively meaning Q1 of
2021 will be free. It seems fair. However we can afford to do
this financially and I'm aware that's a factor that Quins may
not have in their favour. We're going to revisit this in the
next couple of months to see if we need to add in further
measures - we can do this, but an organisation like Quins just
can't.
