Not sure I agree with the Quins choice, think there have been
       worse

PDJ was definitely worse than Sackey. Sackey was injury cover
IIRC and at least he did actually score a couple of tries. PDJ
was meant to be JJs replacement.

       I don't recall Steve Thompson signing for Wasps? He's a player I
really admire - having retired due to a serious neck injury, for
which he received a large insurance payout, he (apparently)
sought further advice and came back to the game, and repaid the
insurance money. I read that in a few places, so assume it's
       true. Nice chap too.

Yep that's true. He was able to play in France where they had
       insurers willing to insure him.

Cronje? Not necessarily his fault, but still...

I think that worst means something different to the author than
to most people. Worst seems to mean signings that didn't work
       out here.
Based on current evidence, while unspectacular Sackey offered
more (and was injury cover only) than Goneva has so far.

It is somewhat unfair to pick Cronje. He was so embarrassed at
taking the club's money and being unable to play that in the end
he asked to break the contract and go back to South Africa, even
though he was legally able to carry on taking the money until
the end of the season. So although he didn't play for us, he
didn't cost us much either - so not the worst signing in my
opinion. PDJ took more money for doing much the same amount of
       work!

As I said, not necessarily his fault, but as a much lauded
signing, he was unable to do anything for us. To be fair, we
managed to break others, but at least they got on the field
       (Abbott).
PDJ is still the benchmark, though!

Twitter has just reminded me that George Naoupu signed for us in
2016. Worst? No. Least impact on my memory by an international
       (albeit Sevens)? Possibly.
