That’s fine, my point is that a federation with different states
doing different amounts will take longer then centralised
decision making.
Also Spain have blocked children leaving the house for the past
month so quite different.
Anyway as I have said before I do not think that rugby will take
place next season a vaccine is 12 months at the earliest.
Without that there will be no crowds at sport.

Centralised decision making is always slower than decentralised
decision making in ALL organisations.
I actually think that sport will restart - but will be played
behind closed doors for a while.

Germany are also registering deaths differently to others. The
distinction of with Coronavirus (here) or from Coronavirus
(Germany)

As always UK arrogance has led to a lot of deaths. Also if EU
get a vaccine we will not be seeing it! Shambles

You think the EU won't let any country outside the EU have any
of the vaccine? Why not?
Many German hospitals are private. Not NHS style. You think the
UK should have the same system, with people needing to pay, or
have insurance?
It's very easy to point to other countries and claim they're
doing better. The reality is often much more complex. The time
to analyse isn't part way through the pandemic, it's afterwards
when the true toll is known and can be properly analysed.

interesting arguments, Well already we have lost out on PPE from
the EU that has been distributed which I can find the link if
you would like? The NHS has been chronically underfunded for 10
years and now it’s ok because we clap them? Anyway I am happy to
wait until after this but it’s looking like UK will have the
highest European death tolls.

The NHS has been financially fraught for longer than that.
They're hamstrung by PFI debt, the servicing of which is
crippling.
If you're suggesting the EU withhold PPE from the UK, maybe you
should look at countries like Italy, who received an apology
from the EU this week - for not supporting them during the
pandemic. As for the PPE shortage, well that's known to be a
global issue. And of course there are EU countries who did
manage to source PPE from China - but had to return it as it was
substandard.
Death tolls are a moot point. The disparity i reporting muddys
the waters somewhat. In the UK, we don't yet know how many
people have died from the virus. That requires post mortems,
which I believe are currently suspended. But we'll find out,
eventually.

There are people in the world who think that if you need, say
5000 more ventilators, then you walk into a ventilator shop and
just but them and they overnight deliver them to all the
hospitals. They think that the only thing stopping this from
happening is an inept government.
My oldest friend works for the NHS. He is an accountant, ie not
front line.
His current job is taking Chinese PPE equipment apart and adding
more parts to it to make it usable. At his hospital, they have
plenty of PPE, but until the accountants repair it, then there
is a shortage.
Hence, you always need to look beyond the news headlines.

Well the vaccine roll out has started, my old man has had his
already, will this signal the return to some normality? Maybe
we'll all be able to watch a live game of rugby some day!

Germany is a federation. Comparing the UK to Germany (or New
Zealand) is pointless as you are not comparing applies with
apples. It would be far easier to control this outbreak is we
were a despotic dictatorship run by our own Kim Il-DOK with
closed borders. But we aren't.
[/quote]
Er, are you sure? We're being run (down) by Bor-Is J-Son and
although not a despotic dictator, is trying to emulate one.
