I feel the same. Even as someone who regularly watches the
Pro12, there were a good chunk of the Glasgow players I’d never
heard of. Even if we didn’t have the bulk of our England
players, almost every player that featured for us has a
realistic chance of making our match-day 23, so it’s more than a
little concerning.
Obviously Gustard needs time, but that result has really
undermined the optimistic feeling coming from pre-season.
Without a very quick improvement, Sale could rip us apart in
round 1. :-\

Even more worrying that they did it with 13 players then. Yeah
I get its only pre season but still think that losing by such a
margin is worrying, but it will be interesting to see the result
on Friday.

I expect any top class coach to have an impact on morale and
attitude straight away. His best chance of doing that is at the
beginning not months down the track. All the more given that the
flatness of the culture around JK.Gustard is directly
responsible for defence. What does 50 against say in game 2?His
recent record with England is poor. This is a disappointing start
but of course very early days and a win v Sale will restore
hope.A loss won’t

It's also really important, to put pre-season into
perspective... Treviso beat Leicester and Newcastle beat
Leinster. Scarlets also beat Bristol (with all of their stars;
Smith, Madigan, Leiua, Lam, Afoa, Luatua, Pisi, Stirzaker,
Thacker)
I don't expect players to be in the same frame of mind for a
pre-season game and when you tweak a few small things at elite
level, you can get very big changes.
Not worried in the slightest and looking forward to the Ealing
game and Sale on the 1st! :D

At last, the voice of reason. It's pre-season. People are
already leaping on the team after a game that has no bearing on
the season.

That’s the way! Positive logic. Bravo! Preseason is for learning
if anything else after all!

Going off a comment made by Robshaw on instagram when replying
to someone who asked him in jest when’s he ever training (in
reference I believe to all the holiday snaps he’s been posting),
Robshaw replied with “Last free weekend for a while”. Guess it
doesn’t really answer much apart from that he’s back training at
least, but there we go!

watching it).
