Something I seem to be seeing with Quins these days is when they
want to Jack prices up their excuse is they are a business and
need to make ends meet, the moment when they screw up and need
bailing out they dust off their imaginary charity number and
expect us not to want our money back. I can only imagine what
they will say when the season is cancelled and they have not
upheld the matches we're were supposed to get in our season
       tickets.

I'm not sure that we are really entitled to the matches as such.
Basically, you pay for a year's club membership. You are still
a member even though you are not attending matches. You still
have accesses to the myStoop and membership areas of the website
for instance and receive the digital media.
It is the same as Quinssa. I have paid for a year's membership
to Quinssa. In the event that the season gets cancelled, I have
no intention of demanding a refund on my membership for Quinssa.

Ah the small print. Everyone always gets you on that. Well that
is clearly stated so nothng that can be done about it for this
season. I do think it will be written off now though because as
others have said, getting back into match condition training may
be too late. Yes they are probably still keeping fit at home but
there is a big difference between that and keeping in
       competition shape.

I would guess that it's also severely hampering recovery for
those carrying injuries as they will not have the right
equipment in their homes to replicate what the physios in the
       club will have.

Brown Bottle you make an interesting point, but any lawyer could
probably drive a horse and coaches through the T&Cs.
The membership offers only ST holders extra privileges like the
exclusive use of a particular seat. Para 7 should be read in the
context of providing a certain seat and other special events for
       'members'.
However, Consumer Acts oblige promoters of paid events to honour
the primary purpose of the ticket at a designated venue. I would
suggest that 7.4 (b) applies and is the reason behind the CEO's
begging letter, which confirms by association this obligation -
ie hinting that lots of other members have, allegedly, agreed to
forego their right to any refund on STs and loan dividends.
On everything from package holidays, theatre and Wimbledon,
customers are offered alternative dates or refunds. Quins are in
       exactly the same legal position.
After relegation STs holders were offered a return of the
difference between Premiership ST prices (already paid) and
       lower Championship ST prices.
For anyone paying by credit card, they have the added security
that they can ask for their money back from the c/c company for
       non-delivery of services or goods.

Wimbledon had the foresight of taking insurance out against
these things. Something I dont think clubs of football or rugby
       has done.

Quite. It's all very well for some to happily pay for matches
they won't see, have their names emblazoned on another wall
perhaps. But some people are in serious financial straits and
shouldn't be propping up 75% of wages for players on 6-figure
       salaries to do nothing.
