10 weeks for tickling the privates, 3 for a swinging haymaker to
the head?? Bonkers 🙄 but sadly not surprised. The
disciplinary system is a total nonsense 🤬

THE CLUB HAS ISSUED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT REGARDING JOE
MARLER'S DISCIPLINARY.
Harlequins notes the disciplinary decision regarding Joe Marler.
Whilst not in any way condoning Joe's actions last Saturday we
are disappointed at the level of sanction applied, particularly
when compared to other disciplinary decisions announced this
week. The Club will be making no further comment on the
situation and is fully focused on this weekend’s Premiership
Rugby Cup Final against Sale Sharks.

I don't. So that's ok.
I ought to clarify, I don't actually want Kyle or any other
Quins or England players going round punching me and do not wish
to see AWJ get knocked out. I was merely suggesting that it
seems rather silly that a player can react, punch something and
get a relatively short ban, whereas another player can do
something as a wind-up / joke, admittedly very silly, admittedly
wrong, admittedly rather weird, and get the same length ban some
people get for attempted eye gouges, head butts, etc. Seems
completely disproportionate. I get that they want to stamp this
sort o thing out of the game, but a 4-6 week ban would have been
enough of an example

Joe was hounded by the media but this should not have come as a
surprise to him.

I actually think he has grounds to appeal.
"The citing complaint alleged that Marler had infringed Law
9.27 (acts against the spirit of good sportsmanship) when, in
the first half of the match, he grabbed, twisted or squeezed the
genitals of a Welsh player."
I am unsure that there is any proof that he "grabbed, twisted or
squeezed ". He clearly "touched" - but didn't grab, etc.
Also - Joe, "did not accept that he had grabbed, twisted or
squeezed the genitals".
Therefore, I am unsure that the length of the ban is actually
correct based on the above.
