With the other leavers from Sale, I wonder whether all of a
sudden they have to make some room for all the new players they
have bought and want to keep? They have always stressed that
they were/are not spending up to the full cap, but with Curry’s
De Klerks and the few players announced for next season, they
may have to trim their wings to fly more efficiently...

He would certainly improve our side, a great finisher and can
fill in at full-back, question is can we afford him?

I would guess we won't see Murley back this season. Was it
rumoured that Earle is off to Saints?

I would certainly be happy to take him on a short term injury
cover type deal as we are very short on available players at the
moment and there is no doubt he is a very good player.
However, I’m not sure I would want to sign him on a permanent
basis beyond this season. I would rather spend the cap space
elsewhere. When fit Earle, Murley and Ibitoye are in my opinion
good enough for our 3 first choice wingers and I would like us
to keep playing them.
It’s a strange one. With Sale in the running for a top 4 finish
I would have thought he would want to stay there and have a
chance at some silverware. Makes me think he has something
lucrative lined up. But will he go abroad again? I can’t
remember the details of why he left France (I’m not sure it was
ever 100% clear?) but he definitely spoke about wanting to move
‘home’ to England.

Pure speculation but I wonder if Ashton has left to keep Sale
within the salary cap. Similar speculation might explain why
Jamie Roberts left Bath mid season

Would certainly take him and he'd certainly improve the side a
great deal. With his England days behind him I wouldn't be
surprised if he goes for a payday in Japan, but in the meantime
as injury cover to the end of the season Id snap him up, if he
hasn't already agreed elsewhere.

Steve Diamond said in an interview recently that Sale 'hadn't'
been near the salary cap to date, but the 'new' owners were
supporting the side which will allow them to go to the cap
moving forward.....

but if he's injury cover, he's got to be of the same(ish)
ability as who he covers, doesn't he?

Well, he'd definitely fit the criteria as cover for Brownie in
terms of international level back three player...

No doubting his quality. Yes is is a bit of a ponce and show
off, but he is a character and we certainly need experienced
players at the moment. He would add value to Quins for the
second half of the season when we are still (if remotely)
pushing for top 4.
