If it wasn't for those two appalling losses to Worcester and
Irish...

I was there and there was lots to feel good about. We still
have the ability to pass well and reliably. Some appalling
tackles missed even though Exeter were fabulous, Gabs really
needs to work on his defence. We never passed the ball down the
line to the wings. Lasike is doing great things, but he has to
pass and offload too to really make the most of his potential.
Lots of hard work and endeavour. The sheer volume at the end
was wonderful, one of those fabulous Stoop moments.

5 points against top of the league after the last 2 games is a
very welcome surprise! Some mammoth efforts today and some
absolute stinkers. We do still love to give free points away
through dreadful tackling. Exeter were one of the more cynical
teams I’ve seen this season I have to say.
Anyway, the scrum was superb pretty much all day. Smith had a
really good game and we kept at our task very well throughout
without letting heads drop. Good to hear that we have a few
players close to fitness. The way the league is so close, pretty
much everything aside from relegation is possible from here.

What a fantastic win. Great to hear the Stoop in full voice
again. We even had some sunshine! And what a great day for
Lambo, 250 appearances for the club. The bloke is still doing
the business for us. To go for the win when we could have kicked
for a draw showed real guts and belief. Dommers was my MOM and
Saili ran some class lines when he came on. There is no doubt we
have struggled in the midfield due to injuries and we looked a
bit ragged at times. But the boys did what Gussy wants..... we
found a way to win.
We are only half way through the season. Plenty to play for and
hopefully we shall get some of our injured players back soon.

Really struggling to think of the ‘shocking’ performances as
people are saying!
Thought some individual mistakes - but hardly makes shocking
performances - that led to tries.
Third choice props were great! Dombrandt was great in defence in
second half. Care looked more like old Care.

Do you mean self-interested, sceptical or pessimistic? Or do you
mean that they are bland but ruthlessly efficient?

there. Thought we looked more potent when Semi came on, are we
rrally not keeping him?? Watched it on BT, very interesting when
the final set of scrums started, the cameras appeared to show
Gustard shaking his head & waving his arms in disgust at the on
field decisions to take the scrums. Then in the after match
interview he praised the bravery of the decisions! Bit confused
there. Superb & much needed win though.

I think pg was disgusted at the lack of advantage for the gabs
walk-in.

Maybe I used the word wrongly but I meant more along the lines
of they committed some ‘cynical’ or maybe professional type
infringements that weren’t picked up by the ref like regularly
coming in from the side, holding players in rucks, falling away
from breakdowns into one of our players, I know all teams do it
but i noticed it more today than I have done with others this
season.

We have a great 8-9-10 axis in Dombrandt/Care/Smith and when
they’re at their best it reminds me of Minty/Care/NEv
