The bar service is an absolute joke and has been for years. As
others have said... it's got so bad we avoid buying drinks in
the ground. If a pub ran the same level of service it would go
bust.
It also contributes to the number of people leaving their seats
during the game to avoid the inevitable queues at halftime,
which I know frustrates a lot of supporters (especially those in
the front rows).
Personally I would never buy food in the ground as it's
overpriced/unhealthy junk. But the queues are pretty big so i'm
clearly in a minority.

outsourced company specialising in running bars. To me this is
an oxymoron . Like all things, you just need people who know
what they are doing , not think they know what they’re doing.

More money spent to find out the bleeding obvious then. Just
send someone from the staff with an ounce of intelligence to
observe and they will see what needs to be done.

Or sack the outsourced company and replace them with someone who
knows what they are doing.

Absolutely this. I forgive Quins a lot of things but the service
at the bars is my bête noire, followed closely by the nosediving
quality of the food stalls. I fill out the survey they do after
each match to tell them that it's an absolute joke. Have done
for 5yrs or more.
I'll repeat the same point I made when the new queuing system in
the King's Bar was introduced: it doesn't matter how people
queue if the staff have never poured a pint before and stand
around looking lost, getting confused about which beer is which,
can't push the right buttons on the till....etc etc. It happens
every single match, all through every season.
It's London. I'm ok with paying £5+ for a good beer served
efficiently. I'm not ok with paying £5+ to stand around for ages
watching useless students learn how to work a bar, then
explaining to them the difference between lager and ale, answer
their clueless questions about which teams are playing, then
getting them to deduct the cups off the bill which they took
back but forgot, then having a rubbish pint in a plastic cup
that was poured 45mins earlier, half of which will be spilled
trying to get out of the rammed King's Bar.
My suggestions:
- Ditch the outsource company
- Ditch the terrible Greene King deal and get nice beer in
- Get a good hospitality manager
- Hire teenagers/students to work the bars who like rugby and
have been to a pub before.... ideally from the local community
who want to be part of the Quins organisation
- Put some proper beer tents in the south west corner and behind
North stand selling good ales ....Bath do this brilliantly at
the Rec even though it's not a proper permanent ground
- If you're going to have £1 deposit on cups, don't try and
exploit it at the end of the match by having 10-15min queue for
refunds to deter returns...more return stations please
- Expand the swipe station kiosk thingy as it works well (even
if it befuddles the elderly Quins demographic)
- Find a way to not close the Player's Lounge until after half
time, as this puts more pressure on the King's Bar
- Sort the Cask bar out at the south end to give quicker service
for the <ahem> more hardcore consumers of pints
- Food: ditch the big standard burger/fish and chip/hot dog
stands, bring back a pie stand, get a better variety of other
stalls in and rotate them (surely all those quality fancy street
food stalls that do Summer festivals are at a loose end in the
Winter?!). Maybe even get a bit of a theme going with the food
for each match....have a curry matchday or whatever!
- Appreciate it's not going to be cheap but paying a tenner for
a lowgrade kids cheeseburger and chips in a 'club' setting where
we are supposed to be members is absolute thievery. Doesn't need
to be cheap, but does need to be VFM.

Could invest in one of those fancy pint serving gadgets that
Tottenham have, they fill the glass from the bottom just by
placing it on the device. From seeing a video on youtube I
believe it takes around 10 seconds or so

Regarding the food, I do miss the "World Food" stall that we had
a few seasons back. Every game had a different style of food,
cooked in those massive shallow pans & served with
rice/noodles/whatever was appropriate. It was always hot &
tasty. Of the current offerings, I'd say the Duck stall behind
the South stand is probably the best.

Perhaps they should find room for the players in the Debs bar -
its usually half full - and if compared to Kings Bar, then only
⅓ full! Then extend the Kings to include Players Bar.
Ive never worked out why the players don't eat upstairs in West
Stand - I'm sure the various suites there could take them after
the game, and then they won't have to traipse over/round the
pitch to have a snack/meal.
Didn't the Kings Bar used to be open later? They used to have a
disco (or whatever they are called now) after the band and close
nearer 9/10pm? Now they try to get you out close to 7pm!

Did you put these questions to the CEO at the Meeting?
What was his response?
OK. Did anyone ask him about food and drink?
I have been bleating on for ages about the poor quality of food
at The Stoop. Never mind the price - the quality is rubbish. I
bring a bacon sandwich from home - have done for a long time.

I don’t know what the deal is that the club have with the food
outlets but if all they do is pay for a pitch the club won’t be
bothered about quality. As long as they get rent it’s up to the
food vans to sort out the standard of the offerings. I find the
food and drink poor and expensive so don’t buy any at the
ground. Who’s loss is that. Not mine.

Agreed, was really gutted at the first game of the season to
find no pie stand, then to eat a Bratwurst that was not remotely
like a Bratwurst or in anyway served like one.
I would quite like Fullers to take over surely London Pride is
fitting for a club in London.
