AS a birthday treat the wife has bought me a tour of HQ on
Saturday and an overnight in the Marriott. The only thing
missing is a decent curry house within staggering distance. Any
suggestions? Preferably somewhere spacious coz I aint a little
lad:(

I would definitely recommend the Sheesh Mahal, which is about 50
yards further on from the police station in London Road

Panas is a great Nepalese in Central Twickenham heading out
towards Richmond. There are also a couple of good Indian restos
on Church Street - opposite The Fox pub and not far from The Eel
Pie both of which are worth a visit.

A year or so ago I went to Atithi -

(27 York St, Twickenham TW1
3JZ) which was good, but possibly a bit more expensive than the
others I have been to in the area.

Also my favourite - excellent quality, although portions can be
small if that bothers you.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the balti with popadom and a
pint in the spoons for £9
