How many of the young 10’s have trained with the full England
squad as “apprentices”? Genuine question, don’t know the answer!

I think you will find that the use of the term “apprentice” was
a bit of “spin” from Eddie. He has always said that there is no
point having 3 scrum-halves or 3 fly-halves in camp because the
No.3 is just going to be carrying tackle bags and bringing on
the water bottles and will feel they are wasting their time ...
however, if you have a youngster filling that role they are
going to be enthusiastic, naturally, and it will help their
development ... in the long (long) term ... they have no
realistic chance of being called up into the squad for real in
the short term

I got the impression it was also that they get an early view of
what to expect when do eventually get called up to the squad.
It would be interesting to know what happened to other
apprentices?

In 2017 it was Marcus Smith and Zach Mercer..Smith also doing
2018. Can’t find last years , but 3 years on not much change.
