think the stewards on the members bar do a good job, they are
mostly all Quins supporters as well
Last night at the end of the game everyone from west stand was
ushered through members bar as end of stand closed off

OK - I didn't appreciate that. It would explain the LI people in
the members bar and gents. Let's see if it was a "one-off".

I think that members with the Bar access are sometimes able to
bring guests in with them, depending on how full the ground was.
If it was a sell-out or close to, then no guest access, but for
something like an Anglo-Welsh where fewer tickets had been sold,
then you could bring a guest in. At least that *used* to be the
       case. Haven't checked recently.

As Gold member I’ve been told you can’t bring guests in no
       matter what.
There are always away supporters in there and they are either
guests using a spare membership card or as I witnessed on
Saturday pregame a group of about 8 just walked at the security
guy and the guy at the front flashed his membership card and the
rest bundled through as a tight nit group. They even joked a
yard past the security guy that they always do this and it works
       every time.
Not really the rugby spirit but then I’ve always thought not
letting people in the clubhouse is not in the spirit of rugby.
I know it’s a health and safety issue but there seems to be no
restriction on the kings bar?! And I also get it’s one way of
justifying the higher membership prices for the top two bands.

I would guess that the members bar should be just for the
members and deinitely no away fans should be in there. You pay
extra you should get better service. There should be a steward
checking as you go in. You should all contact the club. Do some
of the players go in there after the game?

Usually a player does a Q&A pregame, Robshaw on Saturday (side
note he again said he hasn’t decided on his future beyond Quins
but was in talks on a playing contract abroad and he was in NY
       last week).
I don’t think we should expect better service (than any other
part of the stadium) but even if we did we’d be disappointed.
       The service is horrendous.
Part of the fun of rugby is mixing with the away fans. I think
Quins have a large space under the East and West stands and when
you look at it only the Kings Bar is really open to all. Players
lounge, debenture lounge and honours bar all restricted. I’d be
interested to see their plans on future developments and the
bars and access. Yes I know everyone would be interested.

Kings bar , Quins head, and ( might be wrong ) 5 open air bars
That’s a lot more than at many other grounds
Pretty much every ground has a members bar

What is so special about the members bar? Is that where all the
       real beer is?

I doubt it; we're still sponsored by green king :)

Well, once upon a time I (and a number of others) fought Mark
Evans and Tony Copsey for a real ale bar. It started as a few
barrels of Brakspears in the East Stand bar and eventually
metamorphosed into the Quins Head. In its time it's had some
really tasty beers there. I don't drink there any more. The beer
is foul. I don't know if they rack the beer on the day but
clearly no-one who knows anything about real ale is allowed near
the Quins Head. Maybe it's because all the "real ale" they're
allowed is Greene King rubbish under different names. Anyway
it's vinegar and an embarrassment to the term real ale.
When the West Stand was being redeveloped the club and
architects invited a bunch of fans to come review the plans.
(You know the idea, never an intention of listening to us, just
another box ticked). I told them then the West Stand bar was too
small and you couldn't expect all the people who didn't qualify
for entrance to go round to the East Stand, but for a couple of
season they did. We also objected to the wheelchair/disabled
folk sitting at the very bottom of the stand, so they
reluctantly gave up one balcony for them in the West. Is that
still there? And finally we asked for a terrace for fans to
stand and mingle with opposition fans. The club did actually
produce a plan for that with terraces in the far wings of the
stand, but it never came to fruition.
When I see how rammed the members bar is on a game day, I'm glad
I have no access to it. Those outside bars in the South West
corner are really efficient (by comparison), and as long as you
drink Guinness and avoid the bitter or lager you're OK.
