       Members Bar

I was under the impression that to gain access to the members
bar you had to pay a premium membership fee. Why then today were
there so many London Irish supporters drinking in it - not only
at the end but also at half-time? Also, when queuing for the
members bar gents, there were at least 5 Irish supporters
wearing Irish shirts in the queue, and (being younger and of the
soccer mentality) they thought it was hilarious to take the
mickey out of the Quins members also in the gents. Their
behaviour did no credit to the genuine LI supporter and I was
left wondering how on earth they had got past the stewards
supposedly checking who goes into the members bar. Paying a
premium to get into the members bar is meaningless if anyone is
       let in.
Incidentally, the bar service in the members bar was (again)
awful - 8 minutes to be served when I was 5th in the queue. One
chap dispensing drinks at a funereal pace, accompanies by a girl
who did absolutely nothing except stand there staring into the
middle distance. When I asked her what her role was and why she
wasn't serving anyone, she said it was to take the money. Anyone
else been to a pub where one person pours the drinks and another
takes the money?? It's time the food and beverage manager (if
there is one) got a grip!!!

TBF I was in the members bar at half time and got served pretty
quickly. Also the same at the end despite everyone being
funnelled through the bar. I also saw the bar manager gett
really on top of slow service at half time.

Noticed it a while ago. No one seems to know the till, snails
pace service, getting charged for cups even though you’ve
already paid for them and are re-using. Add on a pretty bad
first team and subsequent shambolic performance against a team
we should be having a decent pop at, and it’s a fairly rubbish
       afternoon. Very very bad

It's a funny one. All the guys around me are able to go in the
members bar because they bought their tickets years ago and
presumably at some point the club let things go. I offered to
pay the next level up last season, in order to be able to go in
the members bar, but I was told to sod off. That's the sort of
       stuff we're dealing with.

My understanding is that there are two distinct levels of
membership (perhaps more, for all I know!). One of them (which
is more expensive) allows admission into the Members Bar and the
other(s) do not. The distinction is shown by the coloured band
on the membership card that the stewards on the door are
supposed to check. I think those allowed admission to the
Member's Bar probably have more expensive seats - so I guess it
may not be possible to have a less expensive seat and then buy
admission to the Members Bar separately. I really don't know for
sure. In the past admission to the Members Bar has on occasion
been really strict, with members even been told they cannot take
in any guests (apparently for capacity reasons). With people in
there and the Members gents yesterday wearing London Irish
shirts yesterday, that may no longer be the case - in which case
why are we paying extra to use it?

I think its gold membership that get entry to that bar. I
personally don’t entry to this bar is worth the extra money to
       my season ticket.

If you have a blue membership card you’re allowed into the
Members Bar. That encompasses Gold and Premier plus any Club
season ticket holders from 5 or so years back that opted to
       retain bar access.
Surprised to hear that so many LI supporters were in there, the
staff have always been strict on entry in my experience. Was it
not just people that didn’t leave via the back when half the
west stand had to exit via the members instead of going towards
       the south west corner?

This reminds me of an episode of Frasier where he and Niles had
to get into the exclusive spa club. Those of you who have seen
       it will understand.

I have Members Bar access and hardly ever use it as I sit in
East stand with my kids. I don't really think it's all that....
Certainly a bit plusher than the King's Bar but not worth the
       walk.
If I bring Bath/Tigers supporting friends to the Stoop I do
sometimes get them into the members bar - in their club shirts -
using one of my memberships. Maybe these Irish fans were with
       friends at Quins?
Seen plenty of French visitors in there for Euro matches as
well....I don't have a problem with it so long as everyone is
       respectful and friendly!

Yep, the guys I sit with (and several good friends of mine at
the opposite end of the stand) have blue cards and I have a red
card - the seat category for all these people is red. The guys
with blue cards don't pay extra. I offered to pay extra and was
told I'd need to move to a more expensive seat.
