From memory, he played 12 a lot when he was in the Academy and
only shifted to back row relatively late. His handling is
definitely better than many backs', at least when his shoulder
is functional.

Great player, captain, decent bloke and Harlequin. Always seemed
to make time for a word or photo with the kids too.

The ideal role model as a player, professional, captain and
person. Sad to see him go, but not too sad as there are so many
good memories of his years at Quins. Plus of course it was great
to see him get some well deserved success with England in his
final years.

The man is a legend and will be missed, all of them. So many
great memories, what an inspiration to all. Wish him all the
best for whatever he does or wherever he goes, one of our
greatest ever players.

I think it's more for the "experience" of the States. It's lured
quite a few big names already (as you can see in that article).

That salary can't be right surely? Unless there are added perks?
I'm sure Chris isn't struggling for cash as he seems to have
been very astute in terms of getting involved with non-rugby
projects, and has had a number of years earning good money, but
that is a pretty massive drop off

$35,000 would be somewhere between twice and three times New
York minimum wage for a full season... which isn't much. But
according to Reddit it only covers the 3 months of the season,
and players can be paid for media and other things out of
season:
