fractionally out of alignment... I agree wholeheartedly. The
team will have known that he was going long before we did, and
he’s handled the announcement with his usual aplomb. There
aren’t many players who get to leave this sport on their own
terms, but he looks like he might be one of them, and there are
few who deserve it more.

would be entirely appropriate for him to sign off with
silverware.

There is an "undo rating" link in lower right hand side of
dialogue box...
Edit - but it disappears once you post again!

A true legend and a model professional. It's been an honour and
a privilege watching him.

A great player, captain, international and Harlequin. He'll be
missed but that's the way of things. Best of luck Chris.

Well, whatever he does next, he leaves a huge legacy to Quins -
an excellent captain, an inspirational player, and a role model
for whoever follows him.
All the best, Chris - and let's hope the rest of our season is a
fitting finale for you! :)

In something I read mentioned France or Japan. Sad day but it
had to happen he will leave a huge hole in leadership and in the
pack.

It's in the BBC article on the other thread. He's basically said
he doesn't know what he'll do next but he plans to look at
France and Japan because they have the budgets.
I'm actually finding it hard to feel sad about this. He's had a
long, successful career with Quins and is leaving while he is
still able to perform at the top level, but at a point where we
have the likes of Baby Chis, Dombrandt, Lawday and Evans ready
to step up.
I wonder if this might leave room in the cap to hang on to Semi?

I nearly included him. If he ever returns to full fitness, he
could be exceptional. I am beginning to wonder if he ever will,
though the fact that the club is persisting with him suggests he
might. If he gets fit this season, he might end up playing 12,
though.

Apart from being an absolute inspiration on the field he has
always come across as an honest, gracious and genuine human
being. Top bloke, leaving at undoubtably the best time for
himself and the team. We will miss him.

That made me laugh - perhaps he'll end the plague that has
infected our centres and make the position his!
