Did the ref “demote” the Sarries captain?

I may have misheard the Reflink but with about 2 minutes to go,
did I hear the ref say that he wasn’t dealing with the Sarries
Captain and instead the Sarries 10 became Captain?

That is exactly what happened. I couldn’t make out what Wray
said, but it wasn’t an explosive or abuse rant. More like a
sarcastic comment that may have been the final straw after being
in the ref’s ear all game.

Yes
And thought Wray had to be pulled away from LP at the end of
game

Classy. I think Wray pushed his luck a bit during the game with
his chat to the ref

What I thought I heard was the ref telling Wray that Sarries had
been awarded a penalty; Wray then made some comment and walked
away, which led to the ref calling the Sarries 10 and saying
"Wray won't engage with me" or something like that. I'm
surprised that Wray wasn't yellow carded and the penalty
reversed, to be honest.
Other ref gripes (yes, even with a win) - the Robshaw incident
which led to the mini fracas at the end, should have been a
penalty to us. Why to Sarries, I do not know.
Lineouts seemed to be almost Dave Ward standard at times, but I
don't think any were given as not straight. That said, look at
what happens when we finally start to compete at lineout time -
more of that please.

From what I remember, Luke Pearce penalised Sarries for a knock
on at a line out, & Wray felt the Sarries player was tackled in
the air & kept on about it, until Pearce got fed up of him. The
Robshaw one might have for Chris grounding his hands past the
ball.

The final penalty was for Robshaw not allowing the player to get
to his feet after diving on the ball.

It was a harsh decision as the laws require the player on the
ground to immediately get to their feet or release the ball.
They can't just lie there and wait for support. It is an offence
to prevent them getting to their feet but if you play the ball
and not the player then technically they must release the ball.
As Robshaw arrived the player remained on the ground and he
reached over and played the ball, rather than preventing the
player trying to get up (which to be honest there was no attempt
to try and get back on his feet) and the player on the ground
refused to release it should have been a Quins penalty.
Why Wray thought it necessary to get in the refs face when his
team got the benefit of the penalty is anybody's guess but he
was lucky not to walk. I think he was lucky that Mr Pearce was
being generous with only 2 minutes to go.
