Agree the penalty count was odd. Struck me that at least half of
those penalties were where we were defending on the line against
the pick and go (and they subsequently scored). Some refs let
them go but Maybank seemed to call a lot yesterday. Almost all
of our tries were longer range/turnover ball/open field so they
had less chance to digress in the same way. Perhaps Luke took
pity on them eg he certainly could have penalised Wray for his
petulance!

Made me think we were a bit more cynical / streetwise in
defending our line. Not a bad thing.

2nd Team with nothing to play for. I'm happy to take the win and
put them away in style, but when you look at the 2 teams on
paper, a win should have been expected. The next 2 fixtures are
winnable - Irish (H) and Bath (A) but then we have Exeter,
Bristol and Sale in succession. If we're still on a winning run
at the end of those then I'll start to get excited.

The people I sit next to at the Stoop and I were discussing just
this yesterday, and came to the conclusion that the Sarries 2nd
XV that they put out yesterday would probably constitute a 1st
XV at any other club. That 2nd XV apparently contained 8 current
or former internationals.

Just for you then.
Only thing wrong in that performance yesterday for me was we
still gave away far too penalties. ;)
Enjoyed the match and went away very entertained!

Well, it was a brilliant performance from our boys, a splendid
atmosphere from us and tremendous fun, all told.
Now, if we can just pretend we are playing Sarries every
week.......

Actually, we should be supporting Sarries in every game now (bar
our away game against them, of course!)
They can take points off of all of our opponents, leaving us to
cruise into the home play-off positions!
Okay, just a thought. Can't bring myself to cheer on our rivals.

Far better to cheer on their opponents. Can you imagine the
history books showing them finishing the season with the lowest
ever points total. Better still, a negative total.

That is indeed a sweet thought!
Don't worry, I was just being hypothetical, I couldn't bring
myself to ever cheer them on!!!

Premiership Roadmap for next season :-)
