The supporters argument makes no sense. Might be correct with
gate receipts at Wasps. But no fans = no interest in sport = no
       sponsors = no money!
He takes the gate receipt view as literal.

In my view if you have no spectators or people watching on BT
they BT won't invest in buying rights to show the matches, if
people don't go to matches etc why would sponsors pay for
       sponsorship space and so on.

Brian’s interpretation is spot on, as ever.
One thing that’s not been mentioned, though: it’s clear from
reading the report that Mr Roberts, the Salary Cap Manager, had
focused on particular transactions, but these weren’t the only
ones that Saracens had made - it’s referenced several times that
they made loans and similar transactions with other players.
What is in the report is only the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, there are references to lots of other players getting
hospitality payments but the details were not given to the SCM.
Also, the SCM was only allowed to look at transactions in the
office and they did not allow him to take copies.
I think that, as they were only going to fine 35 points, they
had enough evidence. Basically solid 80/20 rule.
But, this is why a forensic audit is needed.
