Wray gave Itoje an ‘extra’ £800k

According to Sky, Wray gave Itoje £1.6m for a share in Itoje
image rights when the share was worth a maximum £800k. Basically
he gave him £800k minimum as a lump sum. Seems Wrays daughter
gave Itoje about £100k over 3 seasons for doing nothing. Seems
the whole Wray family are involved in the scandal.

It’s not a damming as I thought it may be. I also hope we are
not doing anything similar after all some of our players have
companies doing various things.

I don’t think we would. Although it would be very Quins to over
pay players who then don’t deliver

that sky article reads very much like they wanted a scoop and
offered Sarries a preemptive strike.

Given that we were one of the clubs that did the investigatory
work that led to a "heavy dossier", I would hope that we'd not
be as dumb as to report saracens for doing something that we too
were guilty of!

Is it me or is there not much in that article that wasn’t common
knowledge before. It’s also poorly written. I’m not sure the
journo has the knowledge to digest the report and so has
regurgitated previous quotes and statements with a sprinkling of
numbers from the report.
Think I’ll wait to see a more detailed account of the report.

They spent £2million over the cap for just that period, and
that's just what is known. The fact they chose relegation rather
than open the books for proper inspection sort of hints they
have more to hide. The suspicion of cheating will never leave
them until everyone know the full facts and scope of what they
have done.

Some Quins players do get involved with business interests
outside the Club but I'm pretty sure these businesses are not
helped by financial support from the Club. I hope.
