Depends on how you look at that success. Was he in place at the
time, then yes. Was he responsible for it? Debatable, and based
on the slide after 'his' success, I'd say no.

We won the (now) European Challenge Cup 2 years after Deano
left, the Premiership 3 years after he left and the Anglo-Welsh
Cup 4 years after he left (and the A League somewhere in there
too).
After 1 full and one half season, many posters on here already
advocate that the present team is Gustard's, so it's hard to
maintain that the cups we won were due to Deano and M Evans. COS
certainly built on their foundation, but it was his and
Robshaw's team that deserve the credit/plaudits.
That he also let it slip and failed to build on is also true,
but I'd say that it was the clubs most successful period,
without doubt.

Alex Ferguson left Man Utd in a horrible state.
How was he not responsible for it? He came in and completely
changed how we were playing, a totally new approach while also
dealing with the fallout from Bloodgate.

Yes, fair enough, I'd forgotten about the 1st JK seasons when he
was actually quite good!
