In my view the whole loan thing is just mud slinging from
Sarries to try and divert attention.

Agree, a lot of what has been said from supporters and the club
has just been an attempt to divert.

Joe was meant to be available for us till 1st January. He would
of played more games bar was injuried. The reason the announced
when they did was because of super rugby’s squad announcements
day.
The loan ‘loophole’ is a bit of a red herring, as it does mean
they cannot play for you (league and Europe) bar a few games,
and so you are not going to loan out a top 23 player.
Gloucester have put on loan 3 players that are either unfit or
nowhere near selection.

err, no.
Hey, I've got a great idea, let's buy loads of world 15 players,
then loan them out all season. We won't have to pay their
salaries!!!!

The difference is I think Bath and Gloucester have run the idea
past Salary Cap Man and SCM he said YES!

Well if there's a loophole, they will be the ones to know... But
they'd have already exploited it.

The "loan" thing is typical people reading a headline and not
the story of what the "loophole" is. It's all from The Telegraph
article here:
HTML https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2020/01/20/exclusive-half-premiership-rugby-clubs-exploiting-loan-loophole/
The claim is that some clubs are declaring players leaving on
"season long loans" then immediately calling them back after a
game or two and not counting those wages towards the cap for the
season. Very different to what Quins have done, or what Bath
have done with Roberts.

I do think there’s a way that clubs could exploit the loan
system to have ready made injury dispensation cover - however
it’s a max of £400k a season and potentially a risky strategy.
