Why would the defence coach necessarily know about how much
players were earning? This is getting a bit silly!

Dallaglio said on his latest pod - all players want to do is get
paid as much as they can negotiate and then get on with playing.
I doubt players even compare wages, so I think it's a bit silly
to expect players to do calculations in their heads and not join
a club 'just in case'.

I've said on twitter that really the players were in a game of
risk and reward. Anyone with more than a couple of brain cells
to rub together knew what was going on. As a player, they may
well have thought it was great to be getting paid more than they
could from elsewhere but they were running the risk of it all
coming tumbling down...

His comment in the Q&A meeting was along the lines of 'money
wasn't a problem, anything goes'. He knew!

If they get another 35 point deduction (as has been reported),
we need another 11 points for safety!!!

Yes, to a point, but I'm sure they were all reassured that it
was all above board (otherwise more would have leaked out,
surely, the more people knew) AND, if you are (say) Farrell,
then since they've been cheating for 5 years or more, he will
have benefitted to the tune of £3.5 million-plus before it all
came tumbling down. A reasonable risk to run, wouldn't you say?

That was the tongue-in-cheek comment reported in here that some
people took to be gospel, yes?

Not quite right as they are already minus 7. So they are 53
behind Tigers on 11 points. With 14 games left the most points
Saracens can win is 60 with 14 wins with a try bonus in every
game. We are on 17 points - 6 ahead of Leicester. So Quins are
59 points ahead of Saracens. So a couple more points for Quins
will guarantee safety. (I think....)

14 x 5 = 70. We need another 12 to guarantee safety.

Well I don't think it takes too much imagination to see
international players looking at their payslips and thinking
well if I'm getting that and we have got x internationals all
earning roughly the same how can we be within the cap? Although
I admit the maths might be a bit difficult with the number of
internationals the Cheats have!
I'd also think that the joint partnership deals might have rung
a few bells.
Dallaglio also revealed in his podcast that he actually took
paycuts to stay at Wasps rather than move on because he thought
that gave him a better chance of winning trophies and playing
for England so it seems not everyone is solely motivated by
money.
So I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

Sky news are saying points deduction of 35 and automatic
relegation which makes it sound like two punishments. So even if
they make up points they will be relegated.
