Loving the quote from McCall in the Times: “clearly, we brought
some of this on ourselves”. No mate, you brought ALL of it on
yourselves and now it’s come back to bite you.

pay offs and can offload them. They I'll still be true strong
for Championship.

does that leave England? Logically player will look to maximise
there personal wealth. Imagine how much the French and Japense
teams would pay for Farrell, Super Maro, Vunipolas, Daly
etc...etc... they would, there fore, unless given special
dispensation, be ineligible to play for England.

Totally agree. No contracted player will throw away income as is
was not their error. Sarries can not cut their bill this year
and I suspect they thought that to pay another fine for 2019/20
salary cap breach would be the only solution. Then the other
clubs showed they have teeth. No club will flout the salary cap
in the future.

As far as point 2 goes, will Sarries’ contracts actually contain
relegation clauses? Nobody could realistically have
contemplated relegation as even a remote possibility when any
of the current contracts were drawn up.

For the Saracens game next week-will their England
Internationals be available if included in the 6 nations squad?

As far as who knew what, I think you have to take into account
some payments are outside the salary cap (promotion for
whassisname beds for example), there's a raft of allowances for
England players, academy players etc... I suspect anyone who
asked was told (as the newspapers were told) "Lots of people
come to us to win trophies and will accept less money for that
chance" or were simply told "We believe we're meeting salary cap
requirements". I mean how many times can you ask the same
question before someone shouts "Will you just shut up about the
salary cap?".
So I suspect there were a number of suspicions, but without hard
evidence that's exactly what they were. In the end it looks to
have been some off the books shenanigans that was used to funnel
additional cash to players. Other players/coaches either
wouldn't have known about them or (like the newspapers were
told) "We've fully informed the salary cap commissioner about
this and he's happy!".

It hasn't been announced they're getting a 35 point deduction. I
think that was the newspapers initially. From what I'm reading
now they're going to be relegated full stop. (which of course
the PRL can do since penalties can be 35 points or more).

Danny Care said on the podcast that there had been banter for
years with the Saracens boys especially at England camps. He
said that everyone knew there was something not right for them
to assemble such a squad. He mentioned the playoff semi when he
said we had scraped together a team to play at their place and
they still had a team of internationals at the end of the
season.
If I remember we were winning at half time then they emptied
their bench of internationals to beat us comfortably at the end.

Can’t wait to read what Stephen Jones has to say about all this
tomorrow. No doubt more righteous indignation at the shameful
persecution of Saracens after everything they’ve done for the
English game and the appalling lack of respect being shown to
Saint Nigel.

It was more that they had qualified 3 weeks early and we had
played a series of cup finals to get to the playoffs. That was
of course because of the cheating as well.
