What could they have discussed for 5 hours? I mean it's not like
they were establishing whether or not he was guilty. Did he
bring the game into disrepute? Yes. He was splashed all over the
papers for a week, pleaded guilty. Did he deserve to be
punished? Well, that would take half an hour between the
sweetness and light brigade and the hang 'em, flog 'em and shoot
'em lot. I suppose the rest was spent bemoaning the youth of
today's dress sense!
