If you'd asked me 18 months ago what a performance from a
Gustard Quins team would look like I certainly wouldn't have
pictured last Friday night. I really thought that we'd be hard
to score against. The most alarming thing this season (apart
from the high error count and terrible discipline) has been our
porous defence.

A note on porosity: it is the state of having lots of spaces in
matter - for example rock - but not necessarily joined up pores.
Permeability however, describes a body full of interlocking and
joined up holes through which anything can pour through, like
any opposing team at the moment...

I think Gustard has lost the dressing room, the way we’ve played
isn’t a case of we gave it our all and we’re outdone by a class
outfit it’s been very abject, disciple has gone aka Marler etc.
Might be too early to call with Feb/early March being the
indicator. I think it will be either us or Irish personally

BINGO! I wondered how long it would be before we heard that
Gustard had lost the dressing room!
I do wonder if the current unhappiness (allegedly) in the squad
is because Gustard/Millard have told some of the senior players
they have to take big cuts or go.

I think it’s a correct observation. Discipline going out the
window, Sinklers attitude, no real cohesion. Makes perfect
sense. It wouldn’t surprise me if Gustard does go, which he
should, that we hear from former players (probably Sinks when he
moves on) how toxic things were with players frustrated at the
lack of proper direction

A combination of this & the brain fart of letting our best young
player go on loan for the 2nd half of the season effectively
saying the season is over in terms of top 4.
I’m hoping they are planning a big clear out of the old guard.
Drain the swamp & start again with more street wise players.

So much to disagree with here.
Letting Joe Marchant go - what were the options? For all we know
he may have left for NZ of his own accord, permanently. Would
that be better?
The season is over - after 8 games out of 22, with us 5 points
off 4th place?
A big clear out of the old guard - removing whom, exactly?
More street wise players - who is available, that we can afford,
and keep under the cap? And should we get what are known as
journeymen, simply because they are street wise? Or are we
looking at seasoned pros? And if we "start again", how long
would you give before you complain that we're not making
progress quickly enough?This is PG's first full season, so it
could be argued that until he's had a full season then you
shouldn't judge him. Otherwise you will end up changing DoR mid
season again, and again, and again, always looking for instant
success.

People keep going on about letting Marchant go to the Blues. If
the rumour is true (and yes, only a rumour) it was that or risk
losing him for good. I can imagine the meltdown had that
happened. As for Sink, only my view, he is off for the money.
Another rumour (yes I know) that he would have stayed had the
price been right does not suggest he is going for rugby reasons
(and no issues with that).
We have a good squad, it has been killed by injuries. Thats not
to take away from some poor results and performances, but lets
not forget the good performances and results. And that applies
to pretty much every prem side this season barring 3. Re
Gustard losing the dressing room, maybe he has, maybe not but I
cant really see any concrete evidence at the moment. Of course
if you look for something hard enough you will find it.
