Maybe NOT as bad as it seems - 2 pts better vs 18-19

It's not completely comparable, but looking at our performance
this season vs. the same fixtures last year did make me feel
less despondent after Friday night's debacle vs. Sale.
Based on the same 7 matches (see attachment) we're actually 2
pts better off (17 vs. 15 pts) though our pts difference is much
worse (-49 vs. -16), though 27 of that 33 pts negative
difference was in the Sale match alone!
       - BETTER vs 18/19 for Glos Home and Wasps Away
       - WORSE vs. 18/19 for Wuss at home
Maybe, just maybe its not as bad as it seems.... I'd be happy
finishing on 57pts like last season and in with a shout of the
       top 4 !

Fair. Although I think just as valid is a view that 18/19 wasn’t
quite as good as it seemed. Quins may have been close to the
playoffs (would we really have had any chance of winning?) but
were only a point above 7th and even only a few above 9th! There
was a good run in the middle from the Big Game to Bath away, but
the early and later parts of the season were very mixed. Was it
just me or did confidence both on the pitch and in the stands
evaporate at Gloucester home and hasn’t returned? And now as per
other threads we’re without March, Earle, Brownie.... some of
the big names are another year older, Sink is presumably off and
others may be..... Yes, there have been a couple of young/new
guys stepping up. But Gustard and Dalrymple need to force a
       massive momentum shift!

Another thing to consider is the Big Game result. Some posters
were saying that we drew with the worst team in the league,
whilst others said that Leicester were a better team than their
position suggested. Yesterday's result favoured the latter.

Maybe comparing results to last year ignores the fact that we
       are playing dreadfully.

Leicester are the worst team in the league, though. Just because
they can beat Bristol - a side that is being shown up now that
internationals are back - doesn't mean that they're not awful
this season. And they were awful against us, but that was good
enough to earn a draw despite us being 14 points ahead.

The points may show something not as bad
But the play on the pitch really does show how bad we are at the
moment, but much like previous seasons we have occasional games
       that make us look good
This season it was Wasps away, and we actually played well at
Chiefs, but as with previous seasons we can’t play at that level
       each week.
But after 8 games we have seen one good performance in the
premiership that resulted in a win
We are also in Champions cup this season, and have been shown to
be not up to the standard required
Sorry but I think it’s far worse this season than last and if we
continue in the way we are we won’t be playing for a play off
spot, but staying in the Premiership

Id say, apart from Exeter, Saints and Sarries, fans from every
other club could probably say the same as us. Some good
performances, some bad performances, we should be higher up the
table etc. I think the prem is the hardest, most competitive
league in the world. Due to relegation and the cap
restrictions. No one can really rest players, its full throttle
each week. It shows looking how close the table is. Im not
saying Quins are fine and all is hunky dory, but I dont think we
       are alone in our predicament.
We know we can play well, we also know we can be poor.
Discipline is killing us. Sort that and get the consistency and
I think we would be in decent shape. Of course, that is easier
       said than done.
