THE HARLEQUINS SQUAD TO TAKE ON ULSTER ON FRIDAY 13 DECEMBER AT
THE STOOP IN THE HEINEKEN CHAMPIONS CUP HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED.
Kyle Sinckler will captain the side for his first home
appearance of the season, with Santiago Garcia Botta returning
to the squad at loosehead prop following his recent wedding.
Will Evans returns to the side after being rested for the last
two weeks, alongside the explosive Semi Kunatani at flanker and
Alex Dombrandt at number eight. James Chisholm is back amongst
the Game Changers following his rehabilitation from injury.
Argentine Martin Landajo starts alongside Brett Herron who makes
his first Heineken Champions Cup appearance for the Club with
Fijian winger Vereniki Goneva also starting his first game for
the quarters, on the opposite wing to the returning Cadan
Murley.
Head of Rugby at Harlequins, Paul Gustard said: “We were
disappointed to come away with the one-point loss in Ulster last
weekend and we have been working hard this week to assess the
critical few and put our energy into those.
“The players have taken good ownership of the week and driven
the detail and energy. We look forward to welcoming Ulster to
what we hope will be a noisy Stoop on Friday night.
“It is a great opportunity for a couple of our players who are
returning from injury to move the jersey forward in what is a
must win game for us if we are to have a chance of competing in
this competition.”

Couple of interesting decisions there... main one being: Why
would he make sinckler captain if he is leaving?! Decent team,
but feel halfbacks could be a big worry and point of different
which ulster will take advantage of

This is not a team to beat Ulster. It is capitulation. Kyle,
as captain, is being set up to fail.
I don't think I can stand 80 minutes of watching Llandajo. 10
minutes last week was enough to last a lifetime.
Hopefully everyone rested this week will be fully fit for the
more important wasps & Leicester games.

Yep. My reading of that team sheet would be....the senior guys -
Marler/Robbo/DC etc - get a week off to do Xmas shopping because
its highly unlikely that we'll progress in Europe. And if we
somehow get a good win against Ulster and a vague chance of
progressing then thats an unexpected bonus. Meantime Sink gets a
chance to show whether his agent is bluffing and/or if he's
serious about his future with the club....

Ulster have 22 of the 23 from last week reappearing with the
only change Luke Marshall starting and Matt Faddes not on the
bench with Craig Gilroy taking his place having started last
week
The other change is Treadwell starting instead of O,Connor who
replaces him on the bench.
I think they mean business

I am pleased with this as we should focus our efforts on the
premiership and cup, still looking forward to the game!

I read it as we gave it our best shot last weekend. If we'd won
we'd have carried on with the first team. Since we didn't
there's no good flogging out first team while there are others
who could do with the match practice or leadership experience.
So we give them a go and say goodbye to Europe for another
season.
