Quins team of the decade
DIR By: quins4life

With the end of the decade fast approaching, thought it would be
interesting to hear everyone’s team of the last 10 years... how
many players from recent years can challenge them Premiership
winning side of 2012. Mine looks like:
1- only can be one man and has to be Joe Marler. Notable mention
goes to lambert who stepped up in his absence.
2- really tough one... always a position we’ve struggled with.
But for his form in 2011-14, Joe Gray for me. Struggled at the
end of his time here but can’t deny how good he was at the
start... even earned and england cap
3- Has to be Kyle Sinckler. Notable mentions go to Adam Jones,
will Collier and James Johnson
4&5- can’t beat the brilliant pairing of Robson and Kohn.
Horwill was just injured far too much and I think symons could
have edged his way in if he had been around for a bit longer
6- Alex dombrandt. Controversial as he hasn’t been around long,
but it has been amazing what he has down in his short career so
far. Clifford, Big Mo Fa’asivaluu are unlucky to miss out
7- Chris Robshaw, Our Captain. Has led the club impeccably
through tough times and been mr consistent. So proud he has
represented this club for so long
8- nick Easter. Can you imagine him and dombrandt in the same
back row, could either be magical or a touch slow, but blimey it
would be entertaining
9- Danny care. No doubt, was always a fan of Karl Dickson who
was criminally underrated but Care has provided so many great
moments
10- Nick Evans. Marcus Smith will get there, but doesn’t come
anywhere near the impact of this man. Living legend, can’t
believe we were lucky enough to have him for so long...
11- Ugo Monye. Another legend, one-club player.
12- Jordan Turner-Hall. Was brilliant in his pomp but says a lot
we haven’t had more in the position. Roberts was a flop, would
say Tapuai gets closest out of the recent players
13- hardest position to pick by far. George Lowe or Joe
Marchant. George Lowe probably one of the most underrated player
in premiership in the decade. Was brilliant and often when we
were poor, it was because he was injured. However, Joe Marchant
is brilliant and just edges it for me. Another mr consistent,
brilliant in defence and sharp in attack. England will be
calling soon.
14- Tom Williams, Tim Visser, Camacho (for that Amlin final try)
all worthy of a shoutouts. But I think no signing has had a
bigger impact than Nathan Earle last season and deserves to be
in this team for that reason. We have really really missed this
season. Hopefully he comes back stronger next year
15- Mike Brown. Criminally not appreciated by anyone outside the
club. Everyone has said Alex Goode this, Anthony Watson that,
but I would have had neither of them and anyone over him
throughout this whole career.
My team of the decade: Marler, Gray, Sinckler, Robson, Kohn,
Dombrandt, Robshaw, Easter; Care, Evans, Monye, turner-hall,
marchant, Earle, brown.

I can’t argue with any of that except maybe Big Mo as 6?

Tani Fuga just creeps in as Hooker (for me) as he last played in
2010 or thereabouts...

Fa'asavalu at 6, lowe at 13. Not sure at 14 but not Earle.
Otherwise I agree

Lowe, no doubt.
Mo as well, dommers will probably get there, but not yet.
Williams over Earle without a doubt.
Most of them pick themselves.
Quite a concern that only Sinckler has broken through since
2012. (special mention to Marchant, as the 2nd best English 13
of the past decade)

As Rugby is a team sport it can sometimes be difficult to
separate the quality of the player from the quality of the team
but I haven't seen a better centre pairing that JTH/Lowe yet.
Having said that, I think Marchant would have looked fantastic
outside NEV/JTH.
Agree with Mo at 6. If Dombrandt breaks in to the list I'll be
very happy.
Horwill over Kohn as well.

My team of the decade is the first 15 for the Premiership final
which is essentially what OP described.

Tom Williams at 14 every time. The man had one of the best rugby
brains I've ever seen in a winger. Probably would have played
for England too, had it not been for the event that shall not
speak it's name.

There’s another year until the end of the decade.

Definitely. Tom Williams is miles ahead of Earle for me.
