For me some green shoots of recovery. Lang improves with every
start. Dombrandt made a couple of his trademark linebreaks.
Robshaw was sharp at openside. Ibbitoye even found some
defensive appetite. Chisholm stepped up in Brown's absence and
had the confidence to score a good individual try. A great
defensive shift at times - especially at the start of the 2nd
half when we drove them back from inside our 22 to their 10m
line before forcing a turnover. Overall an encouraging
performance when I wasn't expecting a win.

I reckon the coaching staff had a word with Danny at half time.
Cut out the lateral movement, don't try any more speculative
kicks, and get some pace on the ball quickly,
Hey presto, a much better second half, and grounds for optimism.
I feel a lot better tonight.

Lots of positives today.
We started to look like a true team for many phases of the game
which was majorly encouraging for me.
Still plenty of room for improvement, but if we can tighten a
few things here and there we will be in pretty decent shape. An
example being our lineout which was much better than it has been
but is still far from consistent.
A couple of wins under the belt and it starts to feel like we
have something to build on.
Hope the team feel the same!

Just to add my appreciation of Lang, he was very good. Shame
about the pen he would normally have knocked over (and I think
was in Marcus range) but made up for it with the fantastic drive
to touch towards the end.

A really satisfying win, in a game I was hopeful about rather
than confident of winning. We looked like a team today. It was
lovely to see.
From 1 to 15 there were really good performances and everyone of
them was looking to go forward. There were far fewer handling
errors and we were generally good in defence (granted, they got
three tries!)
I am a Gabs fan and was pleased to see him have a solid game. He
didn't get much of a chance to run freely but he tackled well
and was strong under the ball. Chisholm played well and took his
try really well. Ismaiel will be much happier with that game
today,
Lang is an excellent attacking weapon with ball in hand.
Campanaro tackled everything. He deserves a chance to run too.
Smith and Care had excellent games and were always looking for
options.
The pack were excellent. Marler is a real leader and was
effective with ball in hand. Lewies has grown into being a hell
of a ball carrier. He carried so many times today and to good
effect. Dombrandt looks to be back in his form from last year.
Good for him.
All in all, PHEW!!!!
Well done Quins and on to Ulster with a spring in our step!

The wind was a lot stronger than it looked from the stands, I
think. Maybe he slightly under hit it as well, but the wind
seemed to be the main problem.

Lang was superb. Ibitoye was really busy - love the way he goes
looking for work.
Still got serious concerns about missed tackles and our defence
as a whole. But more worried about our attack. Seemed to
struggle to break the line in the first half in particular.
Managed only 5 in the whole game (Glos had 13).
That said, it was an excellent win that was much needed.

I like us having both Lang & Smith on the pitch at the same
time. Their combination seems to bring out the best in each of
them, and gives us two very good kicking options both from hand
and from the tee.
In some ways I think having those two (and Herron as well) all
in the earlier stages of their careers means they are each
pushing for the starting position in healthy competition. For
too long we had a clear hierarchy of NEv, then the understudy
only getting cameos off the bench unless NEv was injured. It was
understandable, but it harmed the understudy's development and
meant that when they were called on to fill in during a NEv
injury, they were "undercooked".

Lang's long kicking was practically a game changer. i moaned
when we had Nev and Smith that kicking it 20 metres upfield was
really not helpful. I know he fluffed one kick to touch, but it
was close and he'll get better with more practice and pressure.
