Interesting article. The guy who wrote it was one of the Sarries
apologists so I was half expecting some sort of slant about
players not earning that much so what Sarries did was fair as it
was for the players' welfare first and foremost. Thankfully
there was none of that

While i have sympathy with the point that rugby careers are
short, volatile and not particularly lucrative for the majority
of Prem players, this just reads like yet another elaborate way
of excusing Saracens:
Why did only ‘stars’ co-invest at Saracens?
My hunch is it was probably beyond the means of most squad
players, rather than been some elitist selection process for the
haves and have nots
Obviously still entirely coincidental that each of the
co-investment companies were started in the same year that their
beneficiaries - the highest paid players - were re-signing for
the club ;)

I also made the assumption that the amount each player
co-invested was probably lent to them in the first place.

Its JB. There's always a slant somewhere. Usually involving the
idea that he's right and everyone else is wrong 😂

I grew up in a seaside town with a pier, and a non rugby playing
one at that.

Financial Advisor by day. Host of the Eggchasers and Rugby
