Crumpton is easily first choice for me. The challenge is keeping
him fit.

People seem wuick to blame our hookers for the lineout. There
are others involved ie jumpers. We could have the best throwing
hooker on the planet but if the jumpers aren't doing their bit
we'll lose lineouts.
If all our hookers were fit I'd pick Elia.

Elia is probably the best maul defender that I have seen at
Quins in recent years.

Ella has been very lucky this season, I don't think I have seen
him throw one straight line out. I agree that the hooker is not
only to blame, but then that argument starts to fail when
Crumpton plays and nails it

When Crumpton plays our lineout is better than average. When he
doesn't it's the worst in the league.

I don't recall us being called out for not straight lineouts too
often? And if it's not called, it's straight.

I did say he has been very lucky. Pretty much every throw
against Saints was wonky and should have been called. Even the
commentators picked up on it

Wonky throws seem to be the norm these days. I often shout when
they're not given against our opponents. Of course I never seen
any of our throws as anything other than slide rule perfect :)
Maybe there's some kind of referee's directive about more
tolerance?

Maybe, but some of the Saints ones were terrible tbh, and I
cannot believe he got away with it. My thought on Ellia, if he
starts well he is fine, if he does not, there is no way back.
He can throw, but not consistently.

Is it not possible he saw he wasn't pinged on a wonky one and so
threw the others that way?
