I wasn’t warming to anything on Saturday but least of all some
of Martin Landajo’s decision making. Interested in other
people’s thoughts on our number 9.
Cheers

Before yesterday I've been impressed with what I've seen.
Yesterday his box kicking was poor and he was so slow getting
the ball away from the breakdown. Especially when we were
pressing

I can’t quite remember but maybe we were 14-3 up, maybe we won a
lineout from penalty, but anyway we were in great position,
passing options, about 10m out, and he kicked it to nowhere and
nobody and the ball went dead. It was right in front of us and
everyone around looked at each other and said WTF?

Yes, what was that? Can only think he thought a pen was coming.
His lack of game control and dreadful box kicking probably
biggest (not only) reason we lost that game. We just couldn’t
get territory as a result.

The kicking was awful, and as has been said elsewhere no one
chased the ball, they looked like they couldn’t be arsed or
weren’t fit enough. But why keep kicking it? Especially when the
only bright moment was from a great pass and running line.

He had a poor game, along with many others. I think they will be
a rarity.

I’ve found his kicking poor generally. He struggles with finding
touch let alone the pitch before touch. Box kicking basically
gives possession away. His decision making seems frantic and
rushed.
I understand the rationale behind kicking away but trading
territory for possession must be worth it. It’s just as
exhausting defending the territory gained as chasing
free-flowing rugby.

I haven't been impressed and he certainly doesn't look like an
80 cap player. He skies half his box kicks, looks a bit laboured
at the breakdown and doesn't seem to be any threat with ball in
hand.

Offered reasonable contract and money, seeing out his career, no
edge to his play, predictable at breakdown...passing average..
Probably very good in training, and can talk a great game!!!,

I think he needs to be a bit more patient. A few times this
season he has gone for the "glory" play. Resulted in a try
against Bristol but has also cost us good position in games
(Saints springs to mind, as does the kick mentioned above at the
weekend). We start to build a few phases, get position and he
tries to force it. Time and a place.
