I agree with the rest of your post, but not that bit. When you
sub-contract work out you are entirely responsible.

Yes sorry to hijack, it was a bit of a digression... I meant to
add that it IS an honour for the legendary MB, so it would be
nice if it wasn't the same terrible service experience as all
the other Quins bars! I think I'd rather have the pie & chips
stand named after me TBH!
I just can't fathom why, given the number of bar 'innovations'
that have been tried like mobile ordering and closing queues
early, the club hasn't addressed the shockingly poor bar
staffing. Ordering a beer shouldn't have to involve explaining
to the staff which beer is which, how to pour a pint, that you
just returned a cup so take that extra quid off thanks, that you
are allowed to start pouring a Guinness while the other guy
works the till etc etc..... Always while half a dozen teenagers
stand around awkwardly looking baffled by the very concept of a
bar selling drinks for money.
Please Quins can we have a club video on social media where MB,
in maximum Mr Angry mode, arrives for his first day as the
King's Bar manager, shouts at all the staff and properly
organises the bar 'defense' :-)

But you’re also forgetting signage, marketing and non-match day
usage - all of which I presume will refer to the bar by name.

Yes, I care that the club has seen fit to honour one of their
greatest and most loyal players. You can't name every bit of the
ground after every player, so it is a significant honour to be
granted this. I'm not likely to use the bar much, but I thank
the club for the recognition they've given MB - and he
thoroughly deserves it. Good on him!
