Team vs Bristol Bears

Finally first home prem game of the season. Been such a long
wait!
HARLEQUINS HAVE CONFIRMED THEIR MATCHDAY SQUAD FOR THE SIDE’S
FIRST HOME GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP FIXTURE OF THE SEASON,
WELCOMING BRISTOL BEARS TO THE STOOP.
21 of the 23 that faced Exeter are again named in Saturday’s
squad to take on Bristol, with Mike Brown picking up a minor
injury and consequently being replaced in the starting team by
Aaron Morris. Niall Saunders takes his place in the match 23 on
rotation and the versatile Ross Chisholm completes the squad.
Harlequins have already hosted Bristol Bears at The Stoop this
year in round one of the Premiership Rugby Cup, with Harlequins
claiming a 24-12 victory.
Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said “We are really looking forward
to playing against Bristol on Saturday back at The Stoop where I
am sure all of our fans who weren’t able to make the trip last
weekend are able to support and applaud their team. I’m sure
everyone will be encouraged with our performances so far, having
acquitted ourselves pretty well in the Premiership Rugby Cup by
winning three out of four games followed by a strong performance
against Exeter. We ultimately fell a bit short, but we have the
opportunity to remedy that this weekend and build on the
performance we produced last week.
“As a coaching group we were happy with the effort and
performance against Exeter, and it was great to be able to hear
so many fans who made the long trip down to Sandy Park. On the
pitch, we demonstrated all of the characteristics and behaviours
we are looking for from the boys which if we deliver with the
same consistency weekly we will be in a competitive position.
“The players have another opportunity to represent the badge and
their team mates this weekend and see if we can move on up
against a very good team in Bristol. We are all looking forward
to the challenge and the game on Saturday.”

Three Vice Captains?
Interesting to see they're being open about who's rotated into
the squad rather than leaving it up to us to speculate (the
Sunders/Mulchrone situation)

The injury list seems to be growing a bit rapid but at least the

No James Chis again. Thought Dombrandt might start.
Decent team.
Interesting that Lasiki and Campagnaro and down as not
considered but the three Fijians are down as world cup.
Presumably not back at the club yet then?

Very happy with the team. It would be nice to see Dombrandt and
James Chisholm starting but we can't play with 17....or can we?!
With regard to James Chisholm, it is a bit strange. I wonder if
he has been given a period away from playing before he is thrown
back in (as skipper) in a week or two's time. He looked in good
shape when we saw him play and when he was with the players last
Saturday. It is curious.
I also wonder about Saili. Perhaps he has a knock. Gutted that
Brown is injured, he has been electric. However, Morris is
improving all the time and looks in fine form.
All in all, I am happy that we can put Bristol to the sword in
what could be another high-scoring game against them. The team
have had another week to work on manoeuvres and develop
familiarity. The players are quality and we have strength all
over the park.
Come on you Quins!!!

I'm just excited to get back to the Stoop for a league game.
expecting to see lots of rotation this season, so not overly
fussed about players missing out on selection.
