For Me it kind've makes sense to put Farrell in at 10, if just
for that extra bit of support defensively (a not so strong part
of Ford's game).
Slade is a minor surprise just because He hasn't played much,
but He a class player and wouldn't be any point of Him being in
the squad if He wasn't going to be picked.

Sorry I think Mako is a big mistake. What odds are there on 3
scrum penalties against and him limping off before half time?
Stick with Marler and bring Mako on to make inroads later once
it's broken up a bit. Not sure what Cole coming on at 60 minutes
adds either.
I think you feel nervous because this selection puts that at the
forefront of our minds. Farrell in the bin before half time a
good shout as well.

Ford really isn't an issue in defence no matter how much pundits
continue to bang on about how small he is. He rarely misses
tackles. Sure, you might not get a dominant tackle out of him
against a barnstorming Kerevi, but he'll usually get his man to
ground. And what he gives England in attack infinitely outweighs
this supposed "problem". Farrell just isn't a playmaker at 10 -
whereas he operates very well at second receiver. Really hope
that selection call doesn't prove decisive - or Eddie is
magnanimous enough to bring Ford on early if the attack is
stalling.

A couple of years ago, I'd have agreed on the scrum penalties
thing. Since then he's certainly improved on that front. On the
second point - him going off injured - that does always worry
me.
Slade being there negates a bit of the lack of playmaker issue
but Ford is playing so well I'm not sure why you'd change it.
