Fair enough, as I said I was surprised it wasn’t checked but if
it was clearly onside it doesn’t matter.

The "tackle" on the Australian that foot given as a penalty to
Wales for a forearm to the throat was ridiculous..... Also hate
to say it but the Australian scrum looked half way decent, but
they got nothing from Poite

ITV commentary was so one eyed. Australia's discipline is awful
though

Its almost as if the Aussies are way behind us in this "leading
with a forearm to the upper body/throat/head when carrying the
ball is dangerous" thing. Or could they just be playing dumb??

I thought that the incident with the leading forearm was a fair
penalty.
I do take the point that the tackle technique was poor, and, had
the forearm not been there, would probably have resulted in a
penalty the other way.
But, safety is paramount. Any contact with the person's throat
is dangerous (ask the Cat) and players must be protected.
Therefore, although I view the incident as 6 of one and a half
dozen of the other, I would still penalise the contact with the
throat as the most serious offence.
Therefore, penalty and warning, but no further action - and move
on.

I didn’t see much wrong with that collision and in fact agreed
that Patchell showed terrible tackle technique

I know there is a lot on moaning about this incident, but, it
isn't really the reason that they lost the game.
A more significant reason is they they were playing utter dross
for the last few minutes of the first half and shipped 10
points.
As a neutral though - I thought that it was cracking match to
watch.

No, they have a strong cause for complaint. A ball carrier
should not be penalised for having the ball clutched to his
chest and pushing off an upright opponent after that upright
opponent has run into him.
All the previous penalties and cards we've seen for this involve
a forearm/elbow being held away from the body or a strike, not a
push that ends up briefly at the throat because the tackler's a
muppet.

Put the ball in one hand and hand off with the other?
