Twickenham are CONSIDERING preventing punters returning to their
seats until 'a break in play'.....thoughts??

I like the idea and think it's worth giving it a go. When I get
up during the game I generally try to do so when there's a break
and will try to do the same when returning. I think this would
be good if everyone else followed suit.
Don't get in anyone's way, no gameplay is missed, everyone back
in their seats when it restarts.

If I have to nip out to the loos while the game's on, I try to
do it during a break in play anyway (eg after a try before the
kicker takes the conversion, if a player is down for treatment,
etc). But that's because I don't want to miss any of the action!
       I'm fine with the idea.

If your seat is close to the vomitory then it's probably fine.
If you're way up in the Gods then play will probably have
restarted by the time you're halfway there so there's no
       advantage.

My concerns are how quickly the vomitorys will therefore get
filled up, thus not allowing anybody to quickly exit?

Well, that’s how it used to be many years ago, BUT, that was in
the days when the bars were closed shortly before kick off and
didn’t reopen until after the game had finished, so there was
much less crowd movement during the play.
Personally, I prefer that approach, it seems to me that a lot of
people seem intent on drinking as many pints as possible during
a match, this necessitating the need to get rid of said fluid
shortly afterwards, both of these causing disruption to those
who only want to watch the game without a constant stream of
       traffic in both directions.
Unless the bar opening times are changed (which won’t happen
because of lost revenue), then this is something we will have to
put up with; limiting access to short periods of play while a
stoppage is happening will not work, the returning spectators
may well be refused access to their very expensive seats for
fairly long periods at a time, the ground will gradually get
emptier as more people head for the bars/toilets than are being
       readmitted.
The only solution to this is to only allow readmittance when a
scrum is called, you usually have about 3/4 minutes before play
       resumes these days!!

not a good idea in my opinion. by the time there is a break in
play there could be lots of people waiting, they start heading
back to their seats and play will restart before they get there
causing as much and maybe longer disruption.
It will also cause an obstruction in the vomitory for people
leaving to go to the loos/bars etc.
