Seems an odd time to announce it, unless he was dropped anyway
and just confirms he's out.

I've got a feeling that this was in the pipeline for some time.
Quins posted an article on players at the world cup on the 27th
August and didn't mention Bothma going. I thought it was a bit
odd.
I checked the Namibia team and he was listed.
This makes me think it is a falling out and Quins knew before
Namibia did!

The perfunctory nature of the announcement suggests that there
is far more to it (a falling out sounds like the best
explanation). Does anyone know whether he has been with the
Namibian squad or with Quins?

He was in Durban for their pre-world cup training camp in a
squad of 38. I would be absolutely amazed if he hadn't been
picked for the final 31 so can only assume there has been a
falling out.
