How Eliot Daly is wearing the England 15 shirt instead of Mike
       Brown.
       Terrific performance from England today.

Me neither, also Youngs had a shocker in my opinion, Danny
should be on the plane based on that performance.

I think it’s pretty silly to complain about selection when we
       just beat Ireland 57-15.
If we can win like that with some players having an off day,
then I look forward to when they’re all firing.

What did Daly do wrong? I saw one missed tackle / got handed off
by Aki on the turn. Other than that he scored a try, set one up,
       cleared his lines very well.
I think people are jumping on the Daly band wagon.
For christs sake we just hammered Ireland.
Well played Kyle and Joe today, thought they were both
excellent. Defo starters come the big games in Japan.

Not jumping on any bandwagon or saying that he had a bad game I
just don't see that he is a better fullbay than Mike Brown or
warrants the x-factor description from Eddie Jones. Just my
       opinion.

His pace alone makes him more X factor than brown. And in a
tight World Cup game, the ability to take kicks from half way is
a major weapon. Defensively he was fine today. Very good in
attack. That team is very close to the World Cup 15 for me.

No disrespect towards your view GP2110, but Daly certainly
wasn’t “defensively fine”. That tackle he missed was huge. I
wouldn’t expect any player to have a lapse in defence like this,
let alone an England Fullback. Daly has a terrific step on him
and is blistering in attack. But he cannot defend to a test
match standard and as highlighted heavily he cannot catch
either. Kicking from the halfway line or scoring drop goals is
nice but that’s not what we need in a fullback and I don’t
believe picking a fullback on those credentials will get us very
far. This is purely my opinion but I don’t rate Daly as an
England Test fullback, let alone one to take to a RWC (atleast
       this year’s RWC anyway).
I respect you and your opinion on him but I just can’t see
X-Factor in him. He wouldn’t make it to the judges houses stage
on my show let alone the final rounds. Brown can counter attack
very well for England, defensively his positioning, tackling and
general situational awareness is spot on and I think it’s
wonderfully comforting as an England supporter that he can
       actually catch highballs too.
Daly being good at drop goals and lengthy spot kicks is nice but
not something that should cement you into automatically going to
a RWC as a first choice 15. Farrell and Ford can kick just fine
       in my opinion.
However England’s loss if Harlequins gain in this situation. I
       just feel for Brown.
Very happy with the win today, I hope Mako is ok and very
pleased with Tuilagi’s performance. I think he is great at both
12/13 but better in the 13 role.

Daly was definitely at fault for the Aki try, he committed too
early and Ali just went round him, when he should have been
holding back and forcing Ali to commit to a line. He was also
nowhere near the other Irish try, and the one contested high
ball he had he won but dropped on the way down.
Daly is a great player in attack, but his defensive frailties
are so numerous that England will be vulnerable against any side
that can get a decent amount of possession in our half.
He is a wonderful player, but he is not an international quality
       fullback.

It would seem that Eddie Jones and the England coaching team see
       it differently.
As mentioned before what he brings in attack is very key to the
way England play. His distribution, pace and experience put him
       above other options.
The old idea of a full back being just a defensive rock is very
old fashioned and not the way the game is played these days.
Think of Vianu at Tigers, Goode at Saracens and even as far back
as Jason Robinson. Sometimes the outstanding attacking and
creative play outweighs the defensive case.
Look at the All Blacks, Aussies and Sa they are all player
players who are attacking genuises such as Barrett, Beale and Le
       Roux.
You need that type of attacking xplayer at 15 for todays fast
       passed game.

Those would all be excellent points if Brown weren't a better
attacking FB than Daly has ever demonstrated likelihood of
being, which he is, so balance of defensive Vs attack is moot
because Brown is better at both
Maybe different types of attack, but everything, bar raw pace,
that Daly gets plaudits for, Brown does and has done for England
and Quins without remark. Assists, grubber kick set ups, taking
attacking high balls, beating the man, beating multiple
defenders, breaking tackles, dummy runs and dummy kicks,
finishing moves, offloads, now even drawing the man and passing:
he's not inferior at a single one of those skills.
Now pace has its place, for sure (and the wingers certainly
don't lack for it), but so does breaking the gain line, making
yards into contact and holding the ball.up, which he is much
much much better than Daly at. England have switched to rely on
others for those skills, fair. But to suggest that Daly should
start over Brown because attacking FBs are more important than
defensive ones does Brown a massive disservice
