Did you actually watch the AIs or the 6 Nations?
England's AI performance was eclipsed a bit by Ireland's, but
with a very green pack they scraped a win against South Africa
and then went on to have the better of New Zealand for much of
the game, only losing to a very debatable offside call, and went
on to hammer Australia.
In the 6 Nations, the win against Ireland in Dublin was the best
England performance in years, and rattled Ireland so much that
the wheels fell off the rest of their 6 Nations campaign. The
France game was also pretty good.
To my mind, the loss to Wales was a direct result of the changes
that Eddie has made in personnel. Wales had a proper fullback
(unlike Ireland or France), and once they had absorbed the early
England blitzkrieg, could start to play their game. England had
no-one on the bench who was capable of changing the style of
play or exploiting the game as it opened up. Care used to fulfil
that role; it's not clear who does it now, and there certainly
wasn't anyone who could to it in that game.
Likewise, England have now conceded 2 or 3 tries to Wales as a
direct result of not having a proper fullback.
The Scotland game had very much an end-of-term feeling in the
stadium. By that point, the result didn't really matter, and the
way it played out on the pitch looked that way.
Sunday's game was an unexpectedly good performance from England
with strong debuts from Ludlam and Heinz, but we can't read too
much into it. In particular, it was Wales's first game of the
season, which with a Gatland team is almost always their weakest
performance because he doesn't taper their training until very
late. Saturday's game and the Ireland game will give us a much
better indication of where we are.

Erm yes I do. I've been at all the AI's for the past seven years
and I was unfortunate enough to be at the Scotland game this 6
nations and watched the others on TV.

In that case, how on earth did you conclude that Sunday's game
was "infinitely better than the autumn or the 6 nations"?
